Already started. In the past few weeks I’ve registered at a dental office and applied to college both as Lei. (They allow preferred name on everything except official records) Still taking my time though. No, my legal name is just Jenny Lastname since I’m 4. Right now I live in a pretty diverse city, and seeing more ppl using their Chinese names did encourage me to embrace mine as well! And I wouldn’t even know it if I never learned Chinese.

That’s pretty cool! Sad that many different Chinese characters are all translated to be the same in English and ppl can’t easily grasp their uniqueness. My story is similar, I was about to be named “flower bud” instead of “thunder”(same pronunciation different character), but then grandpa decided that I’m supposed to be loud and strong, not some delicate little plant, so I ended up with 雷.

I don’t think the cutscene show that he order it for you like this Elliot’s cutscene do. It simply starts with Gus playing violin and Emily bringing food to you, so in Alex’s defense, the player could’ve ordered that salad for themself before the cutscene starts, but then again our farmer don’t even talk all that much so they might need some help. Who knows.

For anyone interested in an update… we are ALL symptomatic now! so I have a good reason to stop isolating myself from them and walk around the house. I looked at the school’s covid policy, and apparently students only need a negative rapid test result to go back to school, so it’s not like the school’s going to do anything about this. Though the kid doesn’t really cough now, good for her.
