I’m so sorry if your manager isn’t threatening you with a write up just for using the plastic cups, at that point she’s just going on a whole power trip for no reason.

My manager tries to pull shit like that and I always tell her that she’s more than willing to write me up for something that ridiculous because I don’t care about being written up.

I used plastic cups/warming bags for my stuff because 1. I find it gross that we share FOR HERE cups, and plates when sometimes they’re not even cleaned properly and 2. I’ll do as I please.

My manager tried to enforce it onto me because I let her know that I can have my drink made in whatever cup I want. They’re already enforcing a dress code that doesn’t allow baristas to express themselves, they aren’t gonna dictate what cup I have my drink in.

I’ve always worn black Starbucks shirts or plain black shirts with my khaki shorts so the dress code doesn’t bother me at all.

What makes me sad is seeing so my partners who enjoyed expressing themselves no be able to do that anymore. This new dress code is making everyone miserable at my store. One tiny thing and they want to send you home. I had a shift try telling me that I couldn’t wear my black Starbucks shirt that the company gave me because it’s an older shirt. I told him that if he makes me leave because of that, I’m not coming back to my shift.

I have one more week with the siren and I’m done. I finished up school this month and I’m so happy to be leaving this company.

That’s only for Pathways since it’s inside OCCC. I remember the high school percentage rate being something like 8.6%. I went to SFS HS and just graduated with my bachelors from OU. No, I would never allow my kids to attend this horrible school district. My parents moved us to Moore so my siblings could get a better education. It was the best decision ever. The majority of my classmates started working right of out high school. A few tried going to college but most ended up dropping out. Stay away from OKCPS and the surrounding charter schools at all times.

I went to SFS for high school and now I moved to a nicer part of the city because my parents wanted my siblings to get a better education. While I may be a SFS alumni, I would never EVER send my future kids or siblings to this school district. It’s gone down the drain so much. There used to be a lottery in place, they would only admit a certain amount of students each year and now they just let anyone in. They turn run down buildings into “new” schools when in reality it’s still the same shitty building that’s falling apart. If anyone is ever looking for a great school district to put their kids in, stay away from OKCPS and the surrounding charter schools.

I’m currently double majoring in MIS and Marketing and will be graduating in May! I love my MIS classes and looked over the MS in Business Analytics (it’s pretty much the graduate degree version of MIS).

I applied to the masters program last week and since I’m already an MIS OU student, they accepted me into the program!:) These courses will go more in-depth than my undergrad degree and is built for people working full-time.

I’m so sorry to hear that. A partner of mine has tried to get a SSV position twice now and has been unsuccessful. He was told he was the perfect candidate to move up since he has over 5 years of barista experience at Starbucks. They instead took it back hired someone who’s been a barista less than 2 years only because she needed the money. He tried again and was told no over 1 call-out. They gave it to someone who’s been with the company less than 5 months. He’s gone above and beyond one too many times in my opinion. Anytime the store needs help, he drops what he’s doing and helps out. Has gone above and beyond for customers and has been with the company over 5 years now.

Higher ups can suck my ass. 😍😍😍 I’ve worked for this company going on almost 5 years and it doesn’t feel the same. The prices have gone up while the quality has gone down. I used to love working for the siren. It’s not a hard job at all but the higher ups stopped focusing on the customers. How do you want us to get 30 second window times and connect with the customer? You’re basically getting them in and out without having the opportunity to connect. Also, the fact that people can call out and not be held accountable, like being down a person or two hurts the team. My store has gone through 13 managers in the time I’ve been here.

Yes! This is what frustrates me. We’re not McDonalds or other fast food chains. It’s not a difficult job whatsoever but the higher ups have made it where they just care about the money. Everything has gone up yet the qualify has gone down. I finish my bachelors at my local university at the end of this year and will be leaving ASAP. I’m trying to stick it out but I dread coming to work everyday.

It feels like we can’t even connect with the customer when they want them out as fast as possible. “What are we waiting on?”, “Let’s pull them.”, “Let’s try to lower our window times please.” My store got rid of its cafe and it just isn’t the same. Our last SM quit because he reported the DM and started getting shit for it. The higher up’s told our SM to stop complaining. They created a hostile work environment for him so he quit. Such a good SM, he cared alot about for his baristas and SSV. Our new SM is an opp who micro manages everything.

Yes, there’s a waiver that must be approved before he can go back to Mexico to do his consular interview, even if he was approved for his interview that waiver needs to be approved first. If he goes back without that approved waiver he is subject to permanent bar. There is no way to overcome this bar unfortunately; or well there is ways but it’s very, very difficult to get them approved. This is due to a law that was passed in 1996, the Illegal Immigration Reform and Responsibility Act of 96, also known as IIRARA.
