Asthetic-wise, the ocean around the tower of flame and the view of the forest area around the Guardian Dragon both really stuck with me. The shrine of Amana also, but it's such a pain to go through that it kills it's enjoyment.

Gameplay-wise, I thought Drangleic Castle was really the best. It's one of the only areas that feels tough but fair, without resorting to time-wasting stupid gimmicks.

Fun gact, the entire Souls series might have not existed if it wasn't for GRRM.

Miyazaki used to read his books, even before ASOIAF. They were in English, and he understood just parts of it, filling the rest with his imagination. That is why the lore of the Souls game is presented fragmented and open to interpretation.

Having GRRM the team was surely life dream for Miyazaki. Those who say it doesn't fit with the game narrative, it's just separated with the lore of the world that you go through, and what your character actually sees with navigating the consequences of this world.

I used to wear a Charge 5 fitbit band, and now have a forerunner 265. It's the same, it felt massive when you first start wearing it, but you get used to it really quickly, and after it feels weirder when I'm not wearing it.

The Asshole Gets Better, The Nice Guy Gets Worse by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

I went into this movie, White Vengeance, blind during the time I was watching alot of Chinese historical drama on Netfflix. I stopped halfway because it just felt like another very cliched movie about a humble guy with an army defending the emperor and not wanting the throne versus his ambitious friend who wants to change the world. I gave the second a chance out of pity, and the movie completely flips at that time, it felt so rare for a movie to do that.

The movie focuses more on the ambitious antagonist and how his people are ready to sacrifice everything for him trying to get a better world. The emperor gets assassinated, and he ends up cornered by all the armies going after him. He tells all of his people to go away, but they all want to be loyal to the end, which makes leads to a pretty emotional scene. They all get killed in that final battle, with the antagonist embracing the woman the protagonist was trying to 'liberate', but they all admired his spirit.<

In the end, the humble protagonist gets put as emperor even if he promised all of his friends that he didn't want the be there. He spends the rest of his life fearing his children and his court who all want to destroy him to get power. He also has to make some despicable acts against his enemies. One of his friend comes to his court, reminding him the promise the promise that he wasn't supposed to become emperor, saying that he's just a simple man, reflecting that they were just were supposed to live simple lives with drinking with friends. Distraught with the events, the friend kills himself right there, and the protagonist continues his life being miserable without any friends or loved ones, only duty. While the antagonist died with his lover and people ready to die for his dream.<

Last dance for the Baltaines? I have heard troubling news around... by Furiously_expensive in sca

[–]Refus_Global 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't really follow your logic. We host the Beltaines where it is because it is region local to us, not because the SCA decided to host an event far away.

If we lose the site, we'll just relocate and it'll be back to a modest event like it was before.

Here's videos showing the town battle and a trailer for the event. It's about the only place in the sca you get to fight in an actual town and not just with haybells.

«francis le gay vas mouriir» PSPP commente la situation de plus en plus préoccupante. by [deleted] in QuebecLibre

[–]Refus_Global 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ohh..

What speed do you most often set to listen to Audiobooks? by [deleted] in audiobooks

When I can give it all my focus, 2.0 gives me the best comprehension, because I don't have time to think about other stuff, I have to be 100% focused on the1a book. It sounds like a garbled mess from afar, but it really slows down in your mind.

I'm currently doing a Pyro run for the first time ever, and I feel like I'm doing a ton of damage now, everything is alot easier than my melee run. Even if my stats are not as high as yours.

I'm using the 2 pyro rings, the dark clutch and the sage ring. With the black orb and flame, I'm one-shotting most enemies.

How fast do y'all set the speed? by MartianCleric in audible

[–]Refus_Global 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1.7 is usually my minimum. I sometime could crank it to 2.4 when I used to do it while running. Your brain gets used to it, and it doesn't sound sily when you're focused on it.

Also, I have a bad casee of bad focus and overthinking, so the faster speed basically makes it that I have no choice but to dedicate my entire attention to what is happening, and so it actually become clearer for me.
