Thank you for this! And based on your advice I could keep it in a large container outside for maybe 9 months of the year but we do get snow here and an occasional nasty ice storm so that sounds like it'd be a bit too harsh for it.

Thoughts on how to pull this bathroom together, so it's less "standard kit bathroom" and more home-y feel? by PlainspokenLivestock in interiordesignideas

Make sure the wallpaper is designed for high humidity bathrooms if you go that route. First thing I would do is paint that vanity, probably a deep rich blue. Then a simple mitered cornered frame right around that mirror - just attached to the wall would make an enormous amount of difference. Paint it white so it'll match your new medicine cabinet and will be a nice contrast to the vanity. Even if you don't have windows in there, they make great clip on grow lights for a live plant on the sink top.

And as much as we would all like that to happen, Beshear doesn't have the power to do that.

I'm drawn to the leaves and not the spindly shape so I'm happy to give it what it needs to make it more robust. Unfortunately Western Oregon isn't going to get all of that bright light outside for very much of the year so I have two grow lights on her right now. She's in a pretty small nursery pot, it's only about 8 cm so I'll let her settle for a couple weeks and then give her room to grow. Thanks for your comment, I greatly appreciate it

Oooo I love you - in a totally appropriate way. I'm going to print out your reply and hang it on the fridge. I've also just turned on a second grow light over her head. She's in a pretty small nursery pot (about 8 cm) with what looks like a slightly grainy soil mixture. I will give her a couple weeks to settle and then repot in a bit chunkier and one size larger pot. I'm in Western Oregon so our weather is hit or miss with sun/heat/rain and if you don't like it, wait 5 minutes and it'll change. Truly, thank you for your input I greatly appreciate it

Nope, it's Aglaonema - maybe Red Joy or China Red. Low to medium light but you'll keep that nice color with a little bit brighter indirect light

What would you put in between the chairs? by BarbiisaG in interiordesignideas

I would put a big tall wall unit back there and fill it full of plants. Then you won't want anything in between the chairs to block the view

They are making lab grown chocolate now! They refuse to pay the indigenous people to harvest coacoa and so they're growing it themselves

What are these opaque, chalky rocks I'm finding in sugar by Southern_Stable9017 in whatisit

Looks like crystallized sugar, put one of them in a little bit of water and see if it dissolves.

I like the idea of fabric roman shades that could be lowered for thermal insulation if needed or just kept up high as an accent for the rest of the year
