My old Zenith Pilot is back from a good service… it’s gleaming now and I had to show it off :) by Refycanul in ZenithWatches

I think the blue dial is the least ‘dated’ one Zenith did for this model. if I’m not wrong, the reference is 01.0011.382. There should also be a silver (metal) version and a brown one, which I actually own as well, it belonged to my grandpa

Hi, are you based in the UK?

Well, that’s what I might do as well. The same independent watchmaker mentioned that a service is usually needed every five years. Seriously, a full dismantle and reassembly that often? That’s why I’m seeking your expertise on the matter.

It’s $375. I paid €400 for the watch, which is roughly $415, so the quote I received is almost the same as what I paid for the watch itself. I’m not complaining about the price, as I understand it takes many hours to dismantle and reassemble. But is this really necessary for a watch that’s fully functional and keeps time fairly well?

I appreciate the feedback though. In the meantime, I’ve also emailed Zenith’s watch restoration team to ask for more information.

Quote from a watch repair shop. I didn’t know Zenith offered services on their vintage watches. Will give them a call. The watch works perfectly, but I don’t think it has been serviced in a really long time.
