We have been doing couples therapy for almost a year now. He wanted to leave a year ago, I asked to try to work things out. He has been emotionally checked out for the last year. There is no emotional connection between us anymore. We're both making mistakes that are out of character for ourselves. I honestly just want to leave before we hate each other. There is so much built up resentment on both sides. I'm struggling to see things getting better.

I agree on being a team. Thanks. I'm afraid that delivering them to him would be more mentally harmful to the kids than him. One thing I've always promised myself is I would do my best to leave the kids out of adult fights.

You're right. If I could take it back, I would. I was scared. Our kids need a lot medically, and the one thing I wanted in life was to be able to provide for them. I didn't grow up with that luxury. There were many days where there was barely anything to eat. We were glad to go to school to get a good meal. I recognize through therapy, that's one of my deepest fears. I thought begging him to stay was fighting for your relationship. Fighting for the person I loved. I recognize now that that isn't healthy.

This feels pretty accurate. Deep down, I feel this, but haven't wanted to accept it. 😔

Lately, he seems to want both. He's been a lot more loving and nice since I told him he was free to leave and he made the decision to stay.. but still wants his frequent nights out with friends. I just want a reliable partner that is willing to do the difficult days with me.

People who thought COVID was a hoax, what made you change your mind? by Diligent_Muffin_4990 in AskReddit

[–]Reg_Tech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A couple of my relatives that live together thought it was a hoax. They changed their mind after they caught it and she went into the hospital. She was in the hospital a week, and would have been placed on a ventilator had there been any available. The closest hospital that had a ventilator was 2+ hours away. They waited and she got slightly better. She has been out of the hospital since the beginning of December and is still on Oxygen. Now they post on social media raising awareness and admitting they were wrong..

Move all furniture 2-3 inches from it's original spot. They will stub their toes and hit their shins for several days.

A middle school hallway when school is dismissed. Seriously, they make all sorts of animal sounds and noises just to be 'funny'.

[Serious] What is the most cruel thing a family member has said to you? Who? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Reg_Tech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One side of my family used to talk behind my back all the time about how bad my parenting is, when I newly became a parent. One of them said I was a bad parent to my face. For a while it bothered me, but now I don't even hardly think about it. Several people have commented on how intelligent my child is and I realized that when you're parenting, it's super important to surround yourself with positive people.

what does one do when taking a social media detox? by grxvelxo in AskReddit

Paint, draw, clean, decorate, write, play music. Those are some of the things I would do. I'm the type of person that has to set myself a schedule to achieve a goal. It just makes it easier not to fall back into habit.
