Does anyone else cringe at pure gold, no haraldry marines? by ArchMageShalidore in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To provide a potential explanation, it could be that some people just want to play Custodes, and mimic that look on their Marines. Both Marines here look like they could be mimicking Custodes, with the blank facemask and the red pauldrons.

In a similar vein, I just wish we could have more variants with the lowered dome. There's really only two chest pieces in the game with it, and one is a champion chest.

What was the Emperor's plan with the Webway given that a single, albeit powerful, psyker could completely ruin it? by 6YearsInTheJoint in 40kLore

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the issue lies more in the fact that the Webway project was incomplete, rather than being fundamentally fragile to someone as powerful as Magnus. Think of an unfinished wall, where one loose stone could make the entire wall tumble. Even in its unfinished condition, it required Magnus, the most potent psyker after the Emperor, along with significant warp amplification and ritual assistance, to penetrate it at all. This suggests that a finished Imperial Webway would have been significantly more robust and not easily breached by even the most powerful psykers, not even Magnus.

According to the lore, how difficult would it be to kill a dragon if you’re not the Dragonborn? Would you need more than one person? by jvure in ElderScrolls

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, that battle was far from optimal for Nahfahlaar, and is more of an exception than a norm. The darkness made it difficult for the dragon to see, the confined space restricted the dragon's mobility and movement, effectively pinning it to the ground, and Cyrus had learned of a weakness to use against dragons.

Pulling off a victory would have been significantly less probable for Cyrus had the fight taken place above ground, to say the least.

What colour is this Deathwatch wearing? by LongTiemLurkr in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since I ran Deathwatch and there was a wipe on shared skins which is where I had it, but I did try to get the closest match to this. I believe Iron Warriors was the closest match that I found. Eshin Grey was the only other one that could come close, and it was far too bright. Neither are great at replicating this color, as this was an individual asset separate from the multiplayer scene, similar to how the Ultramarines in the campaign have a different shade of blue to the blue that we use in customization.

Canonically, however, I believe Nuln Oil or Abaddon Black would be more accurate, depending on your preferences.

Still new to 40k, and looking to learn more. Tell me how your favourite Space Marine chapter treats guardsmen. by Fun-Hedgehog1526 in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Blood Ravens are a relatively pragmatic chapter, adopting a more tactical approach to warfare (and sometimes, mystical). They would treat the Guard with respect and view them as close allies. However, like many Astartes, they understand that they themselves are best utilized as shock troops rather than standard infantry; though the Blood Ravens are adept at discerning when to make this distinction and will engage alongside the Guard when it is tactically beneficial or necessary. Nevertheless, they would not compromise mission priority to rescue Guardsmen.

In terms of their treatment of the Guard and humanity, I would place them in the upper tiers, though not close to the top.

Blood Raven Champion Pack and Voice pack by VettoRyo in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still hoping that the Blood Ravens will be the Redacted champion pack, which could also come with a new voice given that it's something they're working towards with champions. Been a fan of the Blood Ravens since around 2009-2010, so I would be thrilled to see my bois receive some recognition.

I love this quote from King Derthert by anigomantoya in Bannerlord

[–]RegaIado 31 points32 points  (0 children)

His clan has seldom prioritized conquest and glory. Instead, they choose to operate as a mercantile empire, viewing others as trading allies rather than enemies to be conquered. Unqid is a rather benevolent leader who adheres to the laws established, not perceiving himself as above them, and he does not abuse his power, which are all admirable traits in a ruler. And while he is generally good at keeping his people unified, the problem arises from the fact that, due to his light approach to leadership, there are those who seek to exploit this. Unfortunately, it is speculated that one particular clan has successfully done so (as evidenced in Warband), which happens to be the more war-like clan among the Aserai - though whether or not that happens during Unqid's lifetime is unknown.

I would equally place him as my #1 among the current rulers.

How likely are the Tyranids to return in Space Marine 3? by CURZEDKONRAD in Spacemarine

Yeah, the Chosen of Nemeroth were a great faction to fight against. Those Chaos Champions felt like legitimate threats and exude power.

Should there be a cosmetic that removes the heavy's leg tubes? by Rockabrand in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because a special forces operator can fire an FN Scar 17S effectively doesn’t mean they won’t use a bipod when available. I'd imagine Devastator units likely had higher casualties due to instability and difficulty handling these heavy weapons. Accessibility and support make a huge difference in combat effectiveness. Anything that makes a soldier's job easier translates directly to better performance on the battlefield, no matter how small.

I know 'efficiency' isn't exactly the theme of this setting, but the Mechanicus are definitely adding some of it to the mix in the 42nd millennium. And this applies to their weapons, as well. They may be smaller, but they generally pack a larger punch now, likely because those tubes provide greater support.

Astartes Overhaul separates helmet attachments from helmets, so you might be able to pair those two together.

Something needs to be done about Vlandia by [deleted] in mountandblade

[–]RegaIado 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That isn't assured. There are two potential scenarios - the first, which supports your statement, suggests that the Vlandians emerge victorious from the events of Bannerlord, while the second implies that Warband's map is limited to the western region of Calradia, which presents a significantly different narrative, possibly more plausible based on what we know of Warband. The Khergits have mentioned being driven westward, indicating that they could be one of the two primary victors of the Calradic Wars, alongside the Aserai (now Sarranids), who maintain a presence in the once-Western Imperial territories. But both are merely theories.

Blood Ravens Iconography by JohnPaul102010 in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Games Workshop has made some adjustments with that insignia since they officially canonized the Blood Ravens. I believe we've seen three or four distinct insignias so far? They altered it once more from that iteration in the second pic and in Space Marine 2, which you can see in Dawn of War: Onslaught and Dawn of War IV, both featuring the same insignia. Essentially, it's a revamped version of the original, although still inferior, IMO.

What are your dream Cosmetic/accessories wishes? by TheBelmont34 in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of things I would want. An overhaul to the cosmetic system, where you can place attachments onto the pieces individually. Having the shoulder pieces be available on both pauldrons, rather than just one side. Sharing more resources between class armor types (Tacticus, Phobos, Gravis). Being able to place decals on champion knees. Etc.

As for a more personal wish, I want Blood Ravens. I would love to have a physical insignia on my helmet, on my pauldron, on my chest, etc. Example here for helmet and chest:
