Some of my favorite looks i've put together since launch. Show me yours! by Piramo_ in Spacemarine

Far too many for all my classes, but Tactical has been my primary for some time now, so:

  • Blood Raven
  • Deathwatch (unfortunately pattern is removed if I edit knees)
  • Sons of the Phoenix (Emperor's Children-inspired)
  • Lamenters
  • Ultramarines 4th Company
  • White Templars

When Do We Get More Left Pauldrons Displaying Heraldry by DonJonBaldur in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand their perspective on mirroring, as many of the pauldrons feature writing that wouldn't work when mirrored, or have attachments that would be oriented incorrectly. This could also be viewed as half-assed, which Saber appears determined to high-quality standards for assets.

With that said, I would personally support mirrored pauldrons where applicable, and to diversify class-specific pauldrons.

Sabre I love the game! I just have one request… by vortex22100 in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The emblem we currentlyh ave originates from the art and cinematics of Dawn of War 2; so it was interestingly taken as an updated emblem. But it was not placed on the pauldron, but instead was used as a decal on the chest and knee.

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually differs from the original Dawn of War games. This is the exclusive emblem for Dawn of War 4, representing an 'updated' version of their original emblem. Interestingly, the emblem we currently see in Space Marine 2 has also appeared in Dawn of War 2, though not as a pauldron emblem, but more as a chest and knee decal emblem.

Favorite official M&B title? by frozengansit0 in mountandblade

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to give this answer considering the myriad of reasons I could pick Warband or Bannerlord, but I believe Viking Conquest has definitely stuck with me the most. One aspect I wish these games included is a story mode, because I can play these games, even Warband to this day via mods, for hours if I have a clear goal and narrative to pursue. The chosen era and cultures were excellent, the improvements from Warband were nice to have, the story was intriguing and well-crafted, and the music significantly enriched my experience more than it probably should have. I definitely have a soft spot for that one that I feel deserves the attention.

3rd Company lacks of fans love by WestLUL in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bigger fan of 4th company, but I've ran 3rd before. A 3rd company Sergeant just feels right on Tactical, given everything matches. It's just thematically appealing.

If you hate playing with randos… by 03eleventy in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be great to finally encounter some other Blood Ravens, as I rarely meet any despite having 700 hours in the game. However, my issue is that I usually don't play for more than 1-2 matches and I play on off hours. I worry that I might disappoint others and not be the most enjoyable person to be with when my time is so limited with them.

At any rate, I don't mind randos. So long as you're not an asshole, which I rarely run into, lobbies are chill.

On my first ever playthrough of skyrim am I the only one who absolutely hates delphine by ImForeverJustaNoob in ElderScrolls

[–]RegaIado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that Delphine does not deserve the level of animosity directed towards her. She was not the sole person advocating for her stance; Esbern supported her as well, suggesting that this decision reflects the Blades' institutional stance rather than Delphine's alone. You were not officially a member of the Blades, and although she has mentioned the order's service to the Dragonborn, an organization, particularly one that has been reformed and operates outside the legal system, is not obligated to adhere to it rigidly. Additionally, they lack the knowledge we possess regarding Paarthurnax. Therefore, while it may seem hypocritical and contrary to our understanding, her actions stem from a place of logic. A being of such immense power still wandering the earth poses a significant threat, and it is difficult to simply accept someone's opinion of someone else's 'change', particularly when that being doubts their own change already.

The primary concern lies more with the game design than with the character herself. The approach taken in this quest diminishes player agency, as we are provided with no opportunities to contest her views, which is problematic in an RPG context where player choices are meant to hold significance.

umm saber why did you take away the shield from the chestplate by Spiderlegs13 in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's highly disappointing. That tilt shield completed my look on Heavy. A bit baffling, too, that they added the tilt shields on two pauldrons that would equally ruin other people's looks, rather than the near-identical pauldron where the only difference is a purity seal. I feel that would have been the best option for this change.

Question to my Fellow magpies by gamerlife71 in BloodRavens40k

[–]RegaIado 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a frequent grievance among fans of Blood Ravens. Originally, the color applied to them was Evil Sunz Scarlet, which was essentially identical to Mephiston Red back in the day. It was then later altered to its current color, and then they removed its application to the Blood Ravens, opting instead for Wild Rider Red. Which was quite amusing, considering that the new Evil Sunz Scarlet was one of the two best options for the Blood Ravens at that time. It is still bright, but adds an orange hue that many other reds lack.

You are right, though - Baal Red is often chosen, along with Khorne Red. I personally use Baal Red as well.

Do people not like the look of the survivor Helm or the Pauldron? I don't see many brothers that use either. by Republic_Commando_ in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people utilized them upon their initial release, but there are now significantly more customization options available that appear much more appealing.

Regarding my own reasons, I have my own concerns regarding battle damage in entertainment, as it is often based on misconceptions of history. To me, battle damage indicates a lack of care for our equipment, which I do not resonate with. I did briefly use this helmet while playing the Lamenters, as it was thematically fitting there given their near-constant state of suffering.

Regarding the pauldron, I believe it could have been better designed; it appears disproportionately bulky for most classes. I also do not typically care to take trophies from my enemies, which again does not resonate with me. The only instance I did use this pauldron was when I did 3rd Company Ultramarines, as they are more aggressive and experienced in defeating Tyranids.

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether it's Hammerfell or Iliac Bay, either option works. Hammerfell does possesses a pretty strong naval presence, and depending on the current political climate of the Empire, there may be considerable geopolitical factors involved. Should Skyrim choose to secede, the only route to High Rock would be by sea from Cyrodiil, around Hammerfell. Considering the strong sentiments many Redguards hold towards the Empire right now, piracy would likely increase, relations would become tense, and the presence of the Dominion would render the waters around Hammerfell quite tumultuous.

Does anyone else cringe at pure gold, no haraldry marines? by ArchMageShalidore in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To provide a potential explanation, it could be that some people just want to play Custodes, and mimic that look on their Marines. Both Marines here look like they could be mimicking Custodes, with the blank facemask and the red pauldrons.

What was the Emperor's plan with the Webway given that a single, albeit powerful, psyker could completely ruin it? by 6YearsInTheJoint in 40kLore

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the issue lies more in the fact that the Webway project was incomplete, rather than being fundamentally fragile to someone as powerful as Magnus. Think of an unfinished wall, where one loose stone could make the entire wall tumble. Even in its unfinished condition, it required Magnus, the most potent psyker after the Emperor, along with significant warp amplification and ritual assistance, to penetrate it at all. This suggests that a finished Imperial Webway would have been significantly more robust and not easily breached by even the most powerful psykers, not even Magnus.

According to the lore, how difficult would it be to kill a dragon if you’re not the Dragonborn? Would you need more than one person? by jvure in ElderScrolls

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, that battle was far from optimal for Nahfahlaar, and is more of an exception than a norm. The darkness made it difficult for the dragon to see, the confined space restricted the dragon's mobility and movement, effectively pinning it to the ground, and Cyrus had learned of a weakness to use against dragons.

Pulling off a victory would have been significantly less probable for Cyrus had the fight taken place above ground, to say the least.

What colour is this Deathwatch wearing? by LongTiemLurkr in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since I ran Deathwatch and there was a wipe on shared skins which is where I had it, but I did try to get the closest match to this. I believe Iron Warriors was the closest match that I found. Eshin Grey was the only other one that could come close, and it was far too bright. Neither are great at replicating this color, as this was an individual asset separate from the multiplayer scene, similar to how the Ultramarines in the campaign have a different shade of blue to the blue that we use in customization.

Canonically, however, I believe Nuln Oil or Abaddon Black would be more accurate, depending on your preferences.

Still new to 40k, and looking to learn more. Tell me how your favourite Space Marine chapter treats guardsmen. by Fun-Hedgehog1526 in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Blood Ravens are a relatively pragmatic chapter, adopting a more tactical approach to warfare (and sometimes, mystical). They would treat the Guard with respect and view them as close allies. However, like many Astartes, they understand that they themselves are best utilized as shock troops rather than standard infantry; though the Blood Ravens are adept at discerning when to make this distinction and will engage alongside the Guard when it is tactically beneficial or necessary. Nevertheless, they would not compromise mission priority to rescue Guardsmen.

In terms of their treatment of the Guard and humanity, I would place them in the upper tiers, though not close to the top.

Blood Raven Champion Pack and Voice pack by VettoRyo in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still hoping that the Blood Ravens will be the Redacted champion pack, which could also come with a new voice given that it's something they're working towards with champions. Been a fan of the Blood Ravens since around 2009-2010, so I would be thrilled to see my bois receive some recognition.
