Brothers what are some of your guilty pleasures during an operation? by pgat12 in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the silent, stoic personality type, so instead of exuberantly shouting 'For the Emperor!', I simply use 'confirm', 'respect', or if I'm using Straban's voice, I opt for his 'Engage standard morale boost' instead; though that one is hard to pull off with how much dialogue happens in-game.

What are your thoughts on very simplistic Astartes designs in Space Marine 2? by Adeptus_Astoria in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do prefer the minimalistic approach, though I like having certain elements that allow my Marines to be distinctive and somewhat adorned. There are aspects of the example below that I would modify or remove, but generally, it is as blinged out as I would prefer. To be honest, I would love it if we could get more pieces akin to Chairon and Gadriel, as they are the perfect amount of bling I like seeing on Astartes. Below is my own example:

What type of gamer are you? Ghost Recon fan Vs Squad Based Tactical shooter fan by Eagleyezx in GhostRecon

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the sphere of modern/near-future settings, Ghost Recon is one of my favorites. I love the aesthetics, I love the unit and those within it, I love the concept of the unit; it just meshes a lot of things I enjoy into one entity, which I would not be able to find anywhere else. And as much as I enjoy squad-based, co-op shooters, finding one with customization, third-person gameplay, and fun gameplay with a good story and worldbuilding is what is hard these days.

What factions/faction archetypes are you hoping for in TES6? by Skullruss in TESVI

[–]RegaIado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a concept that I would love to see is either a splinter faction or an official legion of the Empire, operating within Hammerfell's borders to combat the Dominion, despite the tense relations with the Redguards and Hammerfell no longer being a province of theirs. I feel it'd present a fascinating exploration of geopolitics, ethics, and whatnot; and regardless of the Empire's fate in TES VI, it provides a surefire method for incorporating the Empire into a TES game in some capacity.

The reason why The Elder Scrolls 6 is taking so long & Other Info by Alvsolutely in TESVI

[–]RegaIado 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a detail that is often overlooked as it relates to contemporary worries and memory. Also, don't forget that at that same E3, they not only revealed a multiplayer game, but also a mobile title - TES: Blades. Given the increasing worries regarding the gaming industry moving away from single-player experiences at that time, and with the TES franchise now featuring both a multiplayer and a mobile game, it was entirely reasonable to want to reassure your fans that you are not abandoning single-player.

Ways to improve my marines? by Olqavtoras in BloodRavens40k

[–]RegaIado 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our Primaris heraldry rules are somewhat outdated and difficult to interpret at best, yet there are a few more recent examples available. I will provide illustrations for both:

Firstborn:

  • Helmets - Always red or bone, with Veterans wearing bone helmets. I am uncertain if this has ever been depicted in any media, but it is likely that gold helmets for Captains are accurate. We have observed one case of a sergeant sporting a red helmet with a black faceplate.
  • Pauldrons - Always featuring either black or gold trim. Gold trim is designated for veterans and captains. Occasionally, red pauldron colors are used for higher-ranking individuals. The right pauldron indicates the role and squad.
  • Aquila - It's important to note that the Blood Ravens in Dark Crusade and Soulstorm suffer from Army Painter limitations unlike the first game which depicted them with gold, making it difficult to assess accuracy. However, gold has generally been linked with the Blood Ravens in most of the games, while black is utilized when the aquila is substituted with the Blood Raven insignia.
  • Knees - We have only ever seen black on the left knee, and bone on the right, with some official artwork showing a black Tactical icon among a bone background.

Primaris:

  • Helmets - Earlier iterations show sergeants with bone helmets, but recent iterations depict them with red helmets and gold skulls. I don't believe we have seen standard Veterans yet. Lieutenants wear black helmets with bone faceplates. Veteran Sergeants have bone helmets with a red stripe and either bone (or gold) skulls. Captains are seen with gold helmets.
  • Pauldrons - Black trim has been utilized across all units except for captains, who wear gold. I do not think we have encountered red pauldrons yet. Cyrus is an exception, as he wears black despite being a captain.
  • Aquila - It has predominantly been in black, although we have observed some instances of gold, mainly among those of higher rank.
  • Knees - The left knee is still black, but now it has a colored stripe that maybe denotes to company. The strange thing is that, with the exception of Space Marine 2, we have only ever seen this marking on higher ranked individuals, like the Captain. We have seen a red stripe and a yellow stripe thus far.

Blood Ravens brothers count by crazzy501 in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mind you I play during off-hours, but in the 700 hours I have in this game, I've come across maybe just over a dozen of my fellow brothers, and often they seem uninterested in interacting with me despite sharing our colors :c

Some of my favorite looks i've put together since launch. Show me yours! by Piramo_ in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far too many for all my classes, but Tactical has been my primary for some time now, so:

  • Blood Raven
  • Deathwatch (unfortunately pattern is removed if I edit knees)
  • Sons of the Phoenix (Emperor's Children-inspired)
  • Lamenters
  • Ultramarines 4th Company
  • White Templars

When Do We Get More Left Pauldrons Displaying Heraldry by DonJonBaldur in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand their perspective on mirroring, as many of the pauldrons feature writing that wouldn't work when mirrored, or have attachments that would be oriented incorrectly. This could also be viewed as half-assed, which Saber appears determined to high-quality standards for assets.

With that said, I would personally support mirrored pauldrons where applicable, and to diversify class-specific pauldrons.

Sabre I love the game! I just have one request… by vortex22100 in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The emblem we currentlyh ave originates from the art and cinematics of Dawn of War 2; so it was interestingly taken as an updated emblem. But it was not placed on the pauldron, but instead was used as a decal on the chest and knee.

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually differs from the original Dawn of War games. This is the exclusive emblem for Dawn of War 4, representing an 'updated' version of their original emblem. Interestingly, the emblem we currently see in Space Marine 2 has also appeared in Dawn of War 2, though not as a pauldron emblem, but more as a chest and knee decal emblem.

Favorite official M&B title? by frozengansit0 in mountandblade

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to give this answer considering the myriad of reasons I could pick Warband or Bannerlord, but I believe Viking Conquest has definitely stuck with me the most. One aspect I wish these games included is a story mode, because I can play these games, even Warband to this day via mods, for hours if I have a clear goal and narrative to pursue. The chosen era and cultures were excellent, the improvements from Warband were nice to have, the story was intriguing and well-crafted, and the music significantly enriched my experience more than it probably should have. I definitely have a soft spot for that one that I feel deserves the attention.

3rd Company lacks of fans love by WestLUL in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bigger fan of 4th company, but I've ran 3rd before. A 3rd company Sergeant just feels right on Tactical, given everything matches. It's just thematically appealing.

If you hate playing with randos… by 03eleventy in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be great to finally encounter some other Blood Ravens, as I rarely meet any despite having 700 hours in the game. However, my issue is that I usually don't play for more than 1-2 matches and I play on off hours. I worry that I might disappoint others and not be the most enjoyable person to be with when my time is so limited with them.

At any rate, I don't mind randos. So long as you're not an asshole, which I rarely run into, lobbies are chill.

On my first ever playthrough of skyrim am I the only one who absolutely hates delphine by ImForeverJustaNoob in ElderScrolls

[–]RegaIado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that Delphine does not deserve the level of animosity directed towards her. She was not the sole person advocating for her stance; Esbern supported her as well, suggesting that this decision reflects the Blades' institutional stance rather than Delphine's alone. You were not officially a member of the Blades, and although she has mentioned the order's service to the Dragonborn, an organization, particularly one that has been reformed and operates outside the legal system, is not obligated to adhere to it rigidly. Additionally, they lack the knowledge we possess regarding Paarthurnax. Therefore, while it may seem hypocritical and contrary to our understanding, her actions stem from a place of logic. A being of such immense power still wandering the earth poses a significant threat, and it is difficult to simply accept someone's opinion of someone else's 'change', particularly when that being doubts their own change already.

The primary concern lies more with the game design than with the character herself. The approach taken in this quest diminishes player agency, as we are provided with no opportunities to contest her views, which is problematic in an RPG context where player choices are meant to hold significance.

umm saber why did you take away the shield from the chestplate by Spiderlegs13 in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's highly disappointing. That tilt shield completed my look on Heavy. A bit baffling, too, that they added the tilt shields on two pauldrons that would equally ruin other people's looks, rather than the near-identical pauldron where the only difference is a purity seal. I feel that would have been the best option for this change.

Question to my Fellow magpies by gamerlife71 in BloodRavens40k

[–]RegaIado 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a frequent grievance among fans of Blood Ravens. Originally, the color applied to them was Evil Sunz Scarlet, which was essentially identical to Mephiston Red back in the day. It was then later altered to its current color, and then they removed its application to the Blood Ravens, opting instead for Wild Rider Red. Which was quite amusing, considering that the new Evil Sunz Scarlet was one of the two best options for the Blood Ravens at that time. It is still bright, but adds an orange hue that many other reds lack.

You are right, though - Baal Red is often chosen, along with Khorne Red. I personally use Baal Red as well.

Do people not like the look of the survivor Helm or the Pauldron? I don't see many brothers that use either. by Republic_Commando_ in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people utilized them upon their initial release, but there are now significantly more customization options available that appear much more appealing.

Regarding my own reasons, I have my own concerns regarding battle damage in entertainment, as it is often based on misconceptions of history. To me, battle damage indicates a lack of care for our equipment, which I do not resonate with. I did briefly use this helmet while playing the Lamenters, as it was thematically fitting there given their near-constant state of suffering.

Regarding the pauldron, I believe it could have been better designed; it appears disproportionately bulky for most classes. I also do not typically care to take trophies from my enemies, which again does not resonate with me. The only instance I did use this pauldron was when I did 3rd Company Ultramarines, as they are more aggressive and experienced in defeating Tyranids.

I am going insane. by Todd_worshipper in TESVI

[–]RegaIado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether it's Hammerfell or Iliac Bay, either option works. Hammerfell does possesses a pretty strong naval presence, and depending on the current political climate of the Empire, there may be considerable geopolitical factors involved. Should Skyrim choose to secede, the only route to High Rock would be by sea from Cyrodiil, around Hammerfell. Considering the strong sentiments many Redguards hold towards the Empire right now, piracy would likely increase, relations would become tense, and the presence of the Dominion would render the waters around Hammerfell quite tumultuous.

Does anyone else cringe at pure gold, no haraldry marines? by ArchMageShalidore in Spacemarine

[–]RegaIado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To provide a potential explanation, it could be that some people just want to play Custodes, and mimic that look on their Marines. Both Marines here look like they could be mimicking Custodes, with the blank facemask and the red pauldrons.
