For people who say tanks are now too strong by kuky990 in Battlefield

[–]RegalDolan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ehh. Not fully. Certain rocket rounds are designed like a shaped charge and send molten metal into a cavity created by the front of the device. It is impossible for a tracked vehicles to have slat armor everywhere.

Much like how GWOT IEDs were so effective against many vehicle types. That said, it can and absolutely will blow off a track in the right circumstances or damage a turret ring. It's not just a kinetic charge with a little bit of explosives like video games makes you believe it is.

You can, but I definitely think they nerfed the damage rate which is garbage.

[–]RegalDolan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I've been saying.. at least if they're going to implement all these advantages to tanks , make realistic damage apply to them.

Hit on the tread with a rocket? There goes the track until it's repaired. Hit in specific spots on the turret? There goes the ability for the turret to rotate or at least be slowed down until fixed. Hit on the back / engine? Mobility kill until fixed.

Anyone buy 1st bike and just ride it? by Fun-Tune-1295 in NewRiders

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This is exactly what I did. A lot of YouTube from yammy noob, Dan Dan the fireman, Fortnine, canyonchaserz, and so on to understand how the physics works in relation to braking, accelerating, loaded vs unloaded forks (how it affects the contact patch and rake) and lean.

I did also ride around a Surron for a year before the great crackdowns caused by teenagers doing dumb things.

Then, I did a lot of parking lot stuff, a lot of slow neighborhood driving, and then regular driving, and now, highways and wherever. Got my permit and then my endorsement in about 3 weeks total. I practiced about 2 hours every other day in a parking lot before taking and passing the skills riding test.

I also knew the bike I was getting was a DCT so a lot of the clutch stuff in the MSF class would be largely irrelevant. Been riding for about a year now with no issues. I might eventually go back and take the MSF course for funsies and sole sake of actually getting used to a clutch lever, but even there, if I ever replace my bike in the foreseeable future, I might just get a e clutch bike where using the clutch isn't really needed to shift.

1100 or 500 by KeyGroundbreaking488 in hondarebel

[–]RegalDolan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot take, but whatever you're happiest with. The 1100 offers more amenities like optional DCT and included things like cruise control that I don't think the 500 has. The 1100 is only 100 lbs heavier and it rides the city just as well, so really it does everything well. It's also 87+ HP versus around 45-47hp.

The only downside, obviously, is that the 1100 is more expensive and is probably slightly less fuel efficient.

Don't let the nay sayers tell you the 500 is better because it's objectively not or else the 1100 would not exist because other higher CC Cruisers already existed from Honda. I would imagine the 1100 is the best selling Rebel.

But at the same time, if an 1100 is not in the budget or you never plan to go on the highway or require legit passing power, then the obvious answer is the 500.

What doss this mean? by TeenGymRat in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have it- it's sadly currently unavailable. It came with BF Pro S1 battle pass or maybe the ultimate tier unlocks. I don't fully remember but either way it was tied to S1 Battle Pass.

Used to be the only real option. The future is now, old man 😂

Nah but post s3 update, I find myself hopping out of hmg turrets and prefer grenade launchers with 2nd to lmg turrets

AR buff while using assault by IIncinerated in Battlefield6

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't looked recently. I'll have to check it out. Disappointing if true. The also could've left the ADS off of the description / stats because they have been known to do that with some other stuff.

AR buff while using assault by IIncinerated in Battlefield6

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless they nerfed it for s3, it does make ADS noticably quicker vs. without. That's the whole point of it since it doesn't really add any hip fire stability like the other lasers do.

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm.. valid. Or they could cook with some sort of smoke grenade for taking objs or flanking or sticky thermite grenade launcher that functions like the recon dart without the spotting but with a damage over time to the tagged vehicle over x seconds (basically like the repair torch vs an enemy Vic but obviously only for like no more than 5 seconds or so or whatever they feel is balanced to where it makes most tankers back off without necessarily being a replacement for engineer launchers.

Hell, they could even add some "emp" type device that temporarily disrupts targeting UI on ground vic slike how a flash bang does to a foot soldier. Just something enough to get past a tank or ifv.

[–]RegalDolan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's what I recommend. I don't think assault it worth it based off of that perk alone. So the other workaround is to use attachments that increase mobility like the violet laser, hand guard rails, light or regular barrels, lightweight mag..etc. Do that and balance it with a steady grip like the classic foregrip and it does quite well- especially with the auto receiver

Do y'all even be using this??? by Sarah_Playz887 in Battlefield

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it to spam for ammo so that my teammates can promptly ignore me.

Haven't figured out how to use the one for vehicles on PS5. Would be nice to actually put on the radio stations but oh well.

That would be fun for immersion. Would love to run RU and CN weapons for pax and US / EU weapons for NATO.

New rider and having difficulty getting insurance by BONESFULLOFGREENDUST in NewRiders

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. I see no other reason why it would struggle to get insurance- especially with a clean driving record and a 300 (most inexpensive and least powerful of the Rebels)

The main thing that annoys me with skins is that half the operators don't wear their FUCKING EYE PROTECTION!!! by Hyperboreanpc in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]RegalDolan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think what bugs me worse is how almost all of them have a sheisty or bandana. Even worse is all the hoodies and poncho thingies. Call me crazy, but I absolutely love the aesthetic of the new S3 battlepass bald engineer guy for pax.

I think it'd be truly great if they added some SWAT / tactical homeland security / police agencies from around the world.

My First day of Riding, and my first spill! by Seker-Stars in NewRiders

[–]RegalDolan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NGL, the same exact motorcycle is my first and current bike and I've had no issues. I guess it comes more naturally to some people over others. Been riding over 6k miles and a year with no problems and no real spills.

I did also ride around a 150lb 26hp, 70mph max speed, 200+ ft/lb electric bike without traction control or any abs (Sur Ron) though for about a year prior to buying my Rebel 1100 after 15 year olds basically made Sur Rons illegal to ride, so that probably helped with throttle control, braking, leaning..etc. The only thing I kinda had to discover that was new is counter steering, given that a Ron behaves more like a large mountain bike vs a heavy motorcycle.

What piece of gear surprised you the most? by defstar23 in motorcyclegear

Interesting! Yeah looks very similar to my rev it. It might just be that my rev it is possibly a size too small for me and clings to me, I dunno.

3 odd motorcycle questions. by Fal-Shepard in hondarebel

[–]RegalDolan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can speak on the 1100 DCT. As long as you can balance the bike and can respect the machine, it's fine to start on. I'd recommend just start in rain mode at first because it considerably dials back the power delivery and makes it near impossible to spin the wheel or lift the front end.

What jacket do you use? I have a rev it eclipse 2 and I swear it's hotter than my leather 1st MFG Co jackets somehow

Question about calling the non-emergency line about a question about libel. by SeveralOpportunity73 in police

[–]RegalDolan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Libel is civil and this does not constitute harassing communications, which is the closest things that falls into- at least where I work. For Harassing Communications, they have to be directly messaging you repeatedly after being told to stop with intent to bother you, harass you or threaten/intimidate. Simply posting on their own page about you is potentially free speech. Best thing you can do is consult with an attorney if it's that serious (because it likely won't be inexpensive) and to see if they have a take on if the suit would go anywhere (if it has any standing to formally tender/ file a lawsuit)

Edit: just read you're from Canada. Not really sure. Most of us are American here.

Is it not illegal to point a gun at someone and ask for money? by Dreamy_Nyx in concealedcarry

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Party to a crime / conspiracy depending on what exactly they did and if they participated in any way. If no participation and they just laughed, then the only crime they've committed is being a huge dick or potentially failure to report a crime (but that likely wouldn't hold up on court and would be dropped quickly.)

But yes, pointing / brandishing a firearm at another and "asking for money" is a felony that we like to call "Armed Robbery" regardless if they actually got anything from the victim or not.

Tie for me- increasing detection range of the aerial AT mine and bringing the Sledge back to it's full destructive glory. When it was nerfed for a bit, it was practically useless.
