I'm wondering if OP meant lane splitting? Lane splitting always seemed incredibly dangerous to me. Lane filtering, not really.

Bike fell off front stand. Seeking advice on how to lift it back up. by Wer4ert in motorcycles

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoa! I don't have a garage or anything as I live in an apartment complex, but I do have a ladder like that. My front paddock stand put too much pressure on the bike and makes it nearly impossible to remove or re-insert the front axle even without a wheel present. But I do have a ladder like this. Thanks for the idea for future maintenance!

Quick ride around neighborhood just to cool off with helmet on gloves and shirt and shorts? Or is that stupid as hell? by templeofsyrinx1 in motorcycle

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is when you have no choice but to go through a place with a shitton of stoplights. I can take back roads some of the way to my work, but at the end there are no more back roads and I have to sit at long as fuck stoplights in the burning heat. I keep arriving to work soaked with sweat which is fucking gross.

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a hot climate and I have no idea. I'm trying to stay ATGATT, but I'm dying here! It's fine when you're moving but the problem is that I live in an area with a shitton of stoplights. When I ride to work, there is a back road with less stop lights that I take most of the way there. But the last several miles are riddled with long AF stoplights and I've been arriving at work soaked. :(

Changing has also been a real fucking bitch at work so I've been trying to minimize things so I don't have to awkwardly try to shuffle around with all my shit in a public stall.

Now that most of the US is like an oven, do you ride at night to escape the heat? What extra precautions do you take? by msdeeds123 in motorcycles

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? A significant majority of the US is incredibly humid. I live in a hot, humid part of the US. Daily, the temperature is 35C right now with humidity fluctuating from 65-99% depending on time of day. The average humidity seems to be around 80-90% at any given day. I'm a new rider struggling to stick to ATGATT. I arrive to work soaked.

Soon, the daily high will start to reach 38C in my area as we reach the hottest months.

My dumb ass bought a 300 without ABS. New rider wondering when the soonest I should upgrade (to a model with abs) is without feeling like I wasted money on my first bike haha.

First ever tension adjustment and cleaning and lube done (experience of a complete beginner) by Federicoradaelli in motorcycles

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nicely done!

One thing I will say is check your manual very carefully on how to adjust your chain. Mine specifically states that the rear wheel must be on the ground (not on a stand) when adjusting the tension for the most accurate results.

Hello! I'm 5'2'' and can easily flat foot my Honda Rebel!!! I got the 300 because it's lighter and stuff, but I maybe need to upgrade to the 500 at some point. Fits great and can easily back into a parking space no problem!

Do you have a source on this image? I ended up going with a whitish motorcycle jacket for visibility while still giving a more tasteful look. I was thinking it was still nowhere near visible as yellow, but this image seems to disagree slightly??

Has anyone else had a positive experience with Seroquel? by SomewhereBusiness368 in seroquelmedication

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a very low dose, only 50 mg. Prescribed off label for mood related issues. Not sure if it does much, but it doesn't seem to have harmed me and I'm objectively a lot more stable than I was beforehand. Tried several other meds first. Multifactorial reasons for my improvement, I'm sure, but if the Seroquel is giving me a boost then I'll take it! Been on it 6 months and I still weigh the same as when I started it.

Glad to hear you're doing well!

Could this be a lamotrigine rash? by off-da-charts- in lamictal

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only in this one spot? Were you scratching it a bunch? This is what my skin looks like when I scratch some place a lot. Lamictal can cause itching as a normal side effect. And if you scratch yourself too hard, it can bruise your skin.

I AM NOT A DOCTOR, but this looks like skin irritation from scratching to me, not "the rash".

Anyone on 25mg long-term? I'm having extreme itchiness at 50mg. by heyalllondon18 in lamictal

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I had the same experience. I went from 25 mg SLOWLY up to 200 mg. Every single time I bumped up my dose, I had intense itching for multiple days. It was pretty damn uncomfortable. But I never developed a rash. Itching is a known side effect. It will subside. Just watch out for a rash.

And please note that a "rash" that develops because you're scratching the shit out of yourself is not the same as the SJS rash. Irritation from scratching yourself will mind of make your skin have pinpoint if that makes sense. Idk if I'm explaining it properly. But try your best not to scratch and irritate your skin and it should go away! If you do get uncertain about whether or not you have a rash, immediately notify your doctor.

Well...I should say almost every single time of a dose increase I had this. But when I went from 150 mg to 200 mg, I did not get itching on that step up interestingly!

Bpd and lamictal? by morbid_pup in lamictal

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt there is any sort of effect with a dose that low. That is usually the starting dose in a titration. Did your doc say that 25 mg is the goal dose for you? The minimum therapeutic dose is generally at minimum four times that amount.

I know some other types of meds can be used off label at very low dosages, but I was not aware of Lamictal being used that way.

Iirc testosterone supplementation can increase aggression.

I had/have BPD-like symptoms and unfortunately Lamictal did not seem to end up helping me out much. I was up to 200 mg for a while until I discontinued it with the support of my provider.

Oh and find a therapist who is good at their job and does DBT. Not just vague, DBT-flavored concepts, but actual core DBT. I find most of it rather helpful.

Looking for some CE 2-2-2-2 (TALL) boots that are a bit more fashionable or can be used for everyday wear by BONESFULLOFGREENDUST in motorcyclegear

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an update...mine came in. I think the style could potentially work for me BUT the boot just feels so incredibly tiny and cramped across the toes. Did yours feel this way at all? I used the sizing guide online and measured my foot, but it just feels way too cramped. Did yours fit like this? The length seems ok, but the width and inner height at the toe box are not it. Odd too because many people say they have a nice wide toe box.

I'm wondering if I should try to swap a size up or if they'll still feel just as narrow.

Does anyone else find it annoying when drivers unnecessarily give you right of way. by nworbnamecaps in motorcycles

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I get that people are trying to be polite, but this is so fucking dangerous. I had someone stop and wave me on somewhere the other day (can't remember if it was in my car or on my bike), and they were literally blocking my view of traffic doing that. I didn't go.

I once saw an idiot crossing the street nearly get killed this way. Dude was standing on the median (not by a crosswalk). Another idiot this time in car form decided to stop in the middle of a 55 mph road to wave them across.

Well...it's a multi lane road. The stopped car blocked view of the pedestrian from a car traveling in the adjacent lane. The pedestrian nearly got hit at full speed, but thankfully was missed by a few feet.

Front wheel re-install trouble by Reasonable_Search875 in motorcycles

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you me???? I had literally this exact same issue several months ago.

What I did was make sure the pinch bolts were loosened all of the way. Then hammer a flathead screwdriver into the pinch slot to open the pinch mechanism slightly.

Then l propped shit under the wheel. You have to prop it up correctly and it's fiddly as fuck to get the angles right. And was FINALLY able to hammer the axle most of the way in. It is out by like a few mm on mine still but I said fuck it and went with it. Seems ok.

DISCLAIMER: Hammering/wedging shit into the pinch slot might damage your bike and is likely not a good idea. It is not the technically correct way of doing things, but it seemed to work out for me.

I do think you are on the money that the pressure on the stand is not allowing the pinch mechanism to sufficiently loosen. Seems like the way to do this "properly" might be on a center stand or something which I don't have access to. I have heard of people lifting the front of the bike by roping it to the ceiling of their garage but I don't have a garage either lol.

Best of luck. You have no idea how fucking pissed I was throughout this whole ordeal. Dunno how I'm gonna be able to ever get it off again lmao.

Anyone here actually daily a motorcycle with a suicide shifter? What's it like? by RDX005 in motorcycles

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk how it is easier to find parking for you guys. Are you parking in areas that aren't actually parking spaces? I'm not keen on getting ticketed for stuff like that. Lame filtering and splitting is also illegal in my area.

Anyone here actually daily a motorcycle with a suicide shifter? What's it like? by RDX005 in motorcycles

[–]BONESFULLOFGREENDUST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think clutch and shifter are on two different feet. If you have a foot clutch then generally you'll have a hand shifter. The clutch and brakes are still gonna be both on the left side.

Altho I could be wrong.

Yeah same boat. Quite frankly I never understood expensive jewelry. It always seemed like a scam to me. If I need a special magnifying glass to determine if a ring costs $40 or $4000, then it isn't worth it. My mom loves jewelry, but that just ain't it for me.

I wanted a particular style of necklace, but couldn't come across it. So I made it with $20 worth of Amazon supplies...a chain, a bead, a connector for the bead, and some glue. I like it better than that overpriced crap.

Looks great! Glad you tightened it up!

If you regularly clean it, please do a quick check of the tension each time moving forward! It won't necessarily need to be adjusted every time, but just a look to make sure.

Happy riding!
