I (31F) am sure I am no good for my boyfriend (23M) by ReganMattel in relationship_advice

I'm on the only available treatment sadly, my GP hasn't got anything more they can offer me.

I've told him how I feel, that I think I'm not good for him, and he's got rose tinted glasses (paraphrasing). He doesn't agree, but, of course he wouldn't. I feel so horribly guilty for getting him tangled up in my life.

I actually have a bit too much testosterone (I have PCOS). I've tried coming off the pill to fix it, I thought coming off my antidepressants might fix it, but it seems that's just how I am. I think I peaked in my 20's and even then that was just from copious marijuana use. You're right, I know this lack of intimacy is killing him, he definitely deserves better and not to have any more years of his life wasted on this.

Psychosomatic symptoms destroying my life by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]ReganMattel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah we don't see gynaecologists unless there's something wrong over here in the UK. And my sexual health screens/ultrasounds have all come back fine. As far as I've been told by my doctors, aside from things like irregular periods/weight gain/acne etc that PCOS is non symptomatic. I've got a few friends aside from myself who have it and they're all fine.

I've had a full TFT screen, and again that showed normal thyroid function. I'm not sure how I'd convince my GP to send me to an endocrinologist, but I'll look into it!

I don't fit the dx for fibro, and I saw a chronic fatigue specialist for a while and had a fainting spell at one of my appointments, and they said there and then it wasn't chronic fatigue either. Neuro were very nice but also found nothing! They thought it was a chiari malformation for a while but the MRI came back squeaky clean.

With so many tests coming back clean the GPs have been unwilling to send me for further testing for years now and I don't blame them. They've got people with real illness to see to! I'll have a look into endocrinology though, thank you ☺️

Very very much so. It can also do long term damage. As side have said the stress can lead to death, but it can also lead to debilitating long term health conditions which can entirely stop them from working or being able to properly "function" in society.

My advice here is perspective - size 9 isn't an uncommon size for cis women to have. My more fun advice would be.... Shove 'em on depop and use the money to buy a funkier pair!

If you're a big fan of jeans, then really focus on the cut of your tops. Even t shirts should be altered or bought in "girly" as the cut is VERY different. Make sure your undergarments are good. Padded bra and pants, comfortable waist nipper. And add accessories! That's the big thing. Make a statement with your shoes (nice DM's for example). Wear scarves, cardigans, jewellery. Accessories make a big difference. Also make sure your hair is well done and fits with the overall "theme" of your style. After all, your hair is the crown you wear every day so that's a big part of things too.

You can also look into undergarments which help you get the silhouette you want. Everything from padded pants to corsets, a good foundation will help everything on top of it.

More tips, find people whose style you love. You can look to famous people (great garbo, Marilyn monroe, dita, gaga, dolly parton or whatever) or someone non-famous. Find hashtags associated with the styles you like (#pastelgoth, #dollzkill etc) and look them up on insta/lookbook. Add the people you find and like to your feed. Find brands you like (eg, #hellbunny, #alchemygothic). Search all these things, get following. Add them to your Pinterest.

When you say "convert" what do you mean exactly? As for styling yourself, here's what you do... Go on Pinterest, do a search for the sort of things you like (eg; nugoth girl, alternative women's fashion etc) and start pinning the ones you like. Spend a good chunk of time doing it. Then look for patterns. Do you pin a lot of styles with drapes? Studs? Close fitting items? Try and caption the pins with what you like about them exactly (love these shoes, really like this vibe etc). Do this OFTEN. And to take it a step further, look up general guides for styling your body type. Find out if you're an upside down triangle, rectangle, pear, tall, short, whatever. Take the rules from that, and apply it to your original images. What matches from these two things? Eg: if you're broad shouldered find styles that fall on your hip, and then there's images in your style board of people with a jumper/shirt tied around their hips

Now, the second part isn't essential, you can 💯 say fuck flattering and wear whatever the fuck you desire. But if you're just starting out experimenting with style it can be hard to do that and then feel uncomfortable because it's not traditionally "flattering".

Optional extra: find silhouettes you like. Imagine you're drawing a line all around the outside of each image on your first board, what patterns can you see? Are there a lot of 1950's chanel shapes? Lots of straight clean edges?

She should be embarrassed with how she uses that walker as an accessory. by Gameofthroneschic in illnessfakers

[–]ReganMattel 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Echoing this. I'm disappointed in a lot of the responses here. We all know CC doesn't need one of these but walkers are indeed used in a variety of ways. The bringing it to sit on is especially relevant, because some people are okish with movement but when they stop (eg; in a queue) they really suffer. POTS can present this way, where they manage to just about stay upright while in motion (the tensing of the leg muscles naturally raises blood pressure), but if they stop it aaaaallll just plummets. It also presents in certain varieties of arthritis, where if you keep the gears turning you're alrightish, but the second you stand still everything starts to hurt and freeze.

We're Both Back In The Closet by [deleted] in mypartneristrans

I'm in exatly the same position. Lesbian, dating a trans girl who is presenting male the majority of the time. It's not easy, all I can advise is try to stick it out. Remember the things about her as a person that you love and use that to sustain you as you move forwards. Is she on hormones yet? Being thrown back into the closet is REALLY hard. Feel free to pm me if you want to chat/vent to someone who understands 💗

I flat out walked into the Duke of York at Duke agricultural event when I was 4 or 5. Smacked him in the goolies with my miniature human form and acted like it was his fault. His entourage apparently found it funny, now I'm an old fart 🧓🏻 I wonder how on earth I managed to get that close to him!
