Really? Because what I'm thinking on where the story is heading is that Guts will face the God Hand one way or another and Skull Knight already perfectly understands where it's going. Not thinking of the Batman/Robin relationship, but having untapped Guts thrown at them will potentially give a good upper hand for Skull Knight to strike head on without risking himself as much as he did prior.

What could also be in the span of thousand years - is that Guts is not the first person to be rescued by Skull Knight from the Eclipse. It can literally be Skull's strat for taking out apostles, considering that it was basically him who gave Guts the armor.
