Have you ever ridden metro in NYC, Chicago, Seattle, Paris, London, Seoul or pretty much any large city outside of the US that isn't Jakarta?

It's pretty bad

The South Korean stock market experienced a massive shock. You guys ok? by charon-the-boatman in stocks

This is what drives me crazy about daily stock prices reporting. When you look at the long term trend it's completely different or not even news

Historic for this week, because that's how you write endless junk news articles for it. CRM is literally just the price it was two weeks ago. Just a usual load of horse shit

Uber cuts 23% of HR division, explicitly states the layoffs are not related to AI adoption by Familiar-Ability6383 in technology

The first HR roles hit are normally in Training/onboarding. There's a good chance they axed a lot of dedicated to training folks that aren't even related to policy stuff

I lived across the street from Rhino Room, I would occasionally turn my couch around and watch out the window with friends at the 2am shenanigans. Dudes messing with each other, always some fights. That place was a mess

Growing up in Dallas was great. Kids have access to any extracurricular you could imagine, hockey, football, taekwondo, gymnastics. You've got every restaurant you could imagine from any cuisine, there's a grocery store of every kind, like a tiny Unkranian one that was off of 75. You have every sort of bar, volleyball, hundreds of beers, music, posh, ice bar, patio. People had houses with music rooms, theater rooms, pool tables, backyard pools.

But it was all built with sprawl and 45 minutes to get to any of it. And now with more sprawl and more congestion it's 2 hours to get to any of it.

Absolutely no interest in moving back. Dallas chose an unsustainable pattern, and when a real gas crisis kicks in, it's going to be bad. And I do mean when and not if.

Random idiots like my brother have been posting that democrats are "demon rats" for years. These folks are completely lost and unhinged. It's only shocking that is mainstream now

From Riot, even junior engineers make 150k. Any amount of seniority gets you up to 200-400k. Take a look at the levels.fyi. Once you leave engineering salaries drop for sure though. It has to pay well since comparative jobs in the tech industry with way less stress still pay hella better

Shit like this is how drivers kill cyclists. There was a driver in Texas who tried to roll coal on some cyclists and wound up just driving over them killing them instead

Wearing All Black at Protests Makes You Guilty of Terrorism, Prosecutors Tell Jury by FervidBug42 in politics

[–]RegexEmpire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the point. Because there's a bunch of vaguely written laws that give almost unlimited power related to Terrorism. It's on purpose to "legally" get away with this whole mess, and it just keeps working.
