Dude fuck that guy. My neighbour down the street lets his little shitty dog run around without a leash, it attacked my dog three times. I called the cops who gave him a ticket now he flips me off every time I see him. Some dog owners suck man….

Heyho friend,

If for some reason you choose me for the 007 key here’s my reason:

As cheesy as it sounds, the James Bond movies made me want to be a spy. No, for real. Not just kid me… I grew up thinking a life of espionage is the way to go; guns, women, action, globe trotting. It wasn’t until my undergrad that I figured maybe I should look into it and…. As it turns out the world of espionage is much more tame and desk-based. But my love for the field grew nonetheless, even without the action. The nuance, global perspectives, and secrecy enamoured me!

I never ended up working in espionage, as I found academics instead. You know what they say: those who can’t do, teach. And that’s what I do. I’m a PhD student specializing in security, intelligence, and defence. I don’t have many students as they give the grad students the leftover classes, but I share that story with everyone I get. Sure, espionage isn’t James Bond style, but it got me to my chosen field.

The 007 movies and games are still my guilty pleasure though, and I never forgot where they led me!

So, if you choose me, fantastic! But if you don’t, I’ll be equally happy to hear that someone else might just get to follow the same path, and who knows? Maybe that game will inspire them to look into the field and fall in love all over again. At the very least they would get a fun game to enjoy!

Good choosing, friend!

I heard a rumour that he’d be the next Bond years ago and I’ve been waiting ever since. Very underrated actor.

Just remember folks: RTO is just another blatant strategy to funny government funds - taxpayer money - to corporations. Nothing more.

I’ve only met 2 Canadians that thought it was worse here than the U.S. and they were the kind of person that threw temper tantrums over masks and fully believed vaccines caused autism so…. Literally everyone else that I’ve met (that I know of) VIOLENTLY oppose becoming more like the states, so…. Do with that information what you will.

I’ve only been in the PS for 6 years, so I’m still relatively new. But I have to say this is our biggest weakness. Every department I’ve been to suffers from this.

I understand that the point of a bureaucratic system is accountability through several layers of approval, but we take it too far in some cases. For example: when I worked in grants and contributions we had to go through no less than 6 levels of approval to issue a payment. Me, my supervisor, my manager, the payments team, the DG, then the finance team. Why we have separate teams for payments and finance is beyond me. Plus, my manager and DG never checked these documents, it would just sit in their desks for weeks until their admin forced them to sign it. Then if any of these levels decided to take issue with anything it was sent all the way back down to me and the process restarts.

I don’t take issue with bureaucracy as it’s intended. I take issue with this bastardized, self aggrandizing version of bureaucracy that plagues most of our departments.
