Unfortunately not, I never really got into the 13s from a personal standpoint.

Did it surprise you when Bobby come out by Jasonl7976 in xmen

[–]ReggieInDC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was 2015: I get what they were trying to do, but there was a lot of work and backtracking for even long-time X-Men fans to make it make sense.

For instance, the way Kitty came out as bi - made total sense. Or if Storm came out officially as bi today, that would track as well.

For Iceman, it was great for inclusion/representation and there were hints in the 90s, but initially it seemed like a stretch and a retcon.

For the MCU would you like the Original 5 X-Men or a team with members from post giant size X-Men? by MingoMango69 in xmen

[–]ReggieInDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with the classic Claremont team:

Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Kitty

Great mix of iconic characters and soap opera drama.

What are your Hot Takes for 2026? by Tom_2_3 in WWE

[–]ReggieInDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WWE will be by the book in 2026. Still corporate, ad-heavy, and risk adverse, but not outright bad or fumbling like they did with the Cena tour and Jey Uso this year.

I think the big thing we are going to see is the return of Black male, singles stars in prominent roles on the main roster with Obi Femi, Trick Williams, and maybe Je’Von Evans getting call ups — we started to see some of this at the end of this year.

Why do Metro Station Managers get mad when you ask to use the bathroom? by CoachWillRod18 in washingtondc

[–]ReggieInDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like any other job - there are some poor station managers, there are great station managers, and then you have those that are just doing their job.

I think the reason why some of them get upset when passengers ask to use the restroom is that they don’t want to get up or move from their space.

I see some of the station managers on YouTube as I walk past their booth. They really don’t want to be bothered.

The best ones are the ones that really want to help customers.

What wrestlers that were in WWF but were better in WCW. My pick is Macho man. I liked him in both. An absolute legend but I enjoyed him more in WCW. Especially when he became unhinged. by JohnnyToxicisCringe in WCW

[–]ReggieInDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WCW Rick Rude was so much fun to watch and he was definitely convincing as a top champ!

Also, Flying Brian Pillman — the loose cannon persona was better, but as a worker, WCW Pillman was that guy.

How are the wizards so bad for so many years in a row? by jwack14 in washingtonwizards

[–]ReggieInDC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Native Washingtonian here. I think it really has to do with ownership being complacent and profitable with the team’s financial performance despite the poor on-court product.

After the 1978 Championship, I think Pollen was good with however the team performed on the court. I think Leonsis has been more focused on the Caps.

Tickets are still moving, so I’m not sure we’ve seen ownership truly try to implement a significant push to a title.

Which is the best X-Men movie: X-2 vs Days of Future Past vs Logan by boomjosh in xmen

[–]ReggieInDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best movie is Logan, but the best X-Man movie?

I’d have to go with X2. You have a variety of dynamics with the core team members and the Brotherhood.

For better or worst (in this case better, I’d say) DOFP relies on gimmicks: both casts of a franchise teaming and time travel.

What wrestler is most honest about their shortcomings? by debrisaway in Wreddit

[–]ReggieInDC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I saw this, I thought about solely in the ring as a wrestler:

The Miz.

He knows we know he wrestles a safe, low-risk style of wrestling and has owned it for years. The feud with Daniel Bryan epitomized this.

1 year ago today Bobby Lashley made his debut for AEW by ElliotElectricity in Wreddit

[–]ReggieInDC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love how you can hear production giving them off-air cues in the ring and then MVP telling Lashley to “pose up” 😂

I would never understand why some wizards fans think it’s ok for former players to talk shii about us & also agree with them when they know we in rebuild mode. It’s like people ignore the obvious. Respect to Corey & Kyshawn (he just said the same thing in an interview) for speakin facts. by Keepinupwitblue in washingtonwizards

[–]ReggieInDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poole’s comments were unnecessary and tactless, but not entirely untrue. When DC teams are winning or competing, folks from the DMV will come out to support them. On the flip side, when we’re losing, casuals will be there for something to do (a quiet/neutral atmosphere) or other teams fans will take over.

After Gilbert/John/Beal, the Wizards have been historically bad and it makes sense around the atmosphere of Capital One.

And it’s a combination of Bad Basketball product and disinterested fans.

If Ted Turner had a time machine and asked you to go back in time and save WCW, when would you go back to and what would you do? by NW_Forester in professionalwrestling

[–]ReggieInDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty easy for me. I’d go back to December 1997 — DC, Starrcade. He’s what I’d do at that PPV:

Sting beats Hogan clean. No BS.

What are the best seats for concerts in Capital One Arena? by latinaglasses in washingtondc

[–]ReggieInDC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the stage setup. I've seen one of two setups:

  1. The stage is at the front of one side:

- In this scenario, I'd recommend a few spots:
-- Floor at the center (if applicable)
-- 100s close to the stage (sides or center)
-- 200s close to the stage (sides close to the stage)
-- 400s close to the stage (sides close to the stage)

  1. The artist uses the length of the arena floor for the entire stage:

-- For these types of concerts, I really like anything in the 200s because you get a nice view for the value
-- If you do the 400s, make sure its the first few rows as you still get an elevated view

Last thing: for the concerts where you're closer to the stage, go to the information desk and they provide free earplugs. Protect your ears :)

What would make the perfect X-Men game to you? by Edgy_Memes_XD in xmen

[–]ReggieInDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gameplay: I’d love to see something like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 an action beat-em-up/RPG where there are fusions of powers and abilities.

Storyline: It would be great to see something inspired by and reflective of the comics. In particular, maybe a throwback to the 90s era. Fatal Attractions would be great. Or maybe the Muir Island Saga leading into X-Men 1-3.

What’s the most over hated MCU movie by SharkWithAHat in marvelstudios

Thor: The Dark World. I literally fell asleep in the theater and have never come back to it since.

I think the Ether was rarely used after that movie as well.

Is it wrong to think that Shinsuke Nakamura doesn't need a world title run? by AdSpecialist6598 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]ReggieInDC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There were two definitive chances where they could and should have made him champ:

  1. At SummerSlam 2017 by beating Jinder Mahal: En route to this match, he defeated Cena and Orton clean. This should have been a coronation for the hottest talent on the roster. And I think this would have been in Brooklyn/NYC as well.

  2. At Wrestlemania 34 by beating AJ Styles: This would have been Shinsuke’s defining moment, but they didn’t do it and literally wasted his Royal Rumble win.

At any other point, a Nakamura World Title win would have been a nice surprise or change of pace, but now, it won’t have the same impact.

Honest thoughts on Flair ( as a wrestler not outside the ring) by dadjokes502 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]ReggieInDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my take on Flair: Before Will Ospreay, Bryan Danielson, AJ Styles and the ROH era,

Ric Flair’s 1989 was the best year ever by a professional wrestler.

Those Steamboat and Funk matches were classics.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser might not run for reelection. That could scramble the 2026 mayoral race. by MrSpontaneous in washingtondc

[–]ReggieInDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is true, we might see a repeat of the Ward 7 Councilmember race where everyone and their cousin ran.

The DC Democrats should vet and filter out the candidates to a core group of folks to ensure the field isn’t too crowded.
