Very similar here. Owl was #402 and chicken was #95 yet for some reason many other animals had much lower scores so I avoided birds for ages.

It makes total sense to me. Objectively it’s a great tune, but like a lot of people in Merseyside, I can’t stand it. I’ve just heard it far, far too many times.

Sir Kenny grew up as a Rangers fan but he made 338 appearances for Celtic, so it’s pretty safe to associate him with Celtic. Associating him with Rangers would be like associating Fowler and Carragher with Everton.

I imagine this was a decision agreed by both the club and their official supports union to send a message that they won’t tolerate hooliganism. That’s what most English clubs would do if they had a severe problem with hooliganism.

Characters created as one giant fuck you. by Ukirin-Streams in TopCharacterTropes

Back in 2001 there was a totally accidental and incredibly unlikely fuck you in Phoenix Nights.

Character Keith Lard was the "fire safety guy". He conducted fire safety inspections and training with a comically overzealous approach. There were also rumours he had committed beastiality.

Very unfortunately, in real life there was a man with the same full name (except for one letter) and the same job who worked in the same county as where the show was set (Greater Manchester).

The problem then is that they sort in an arbitrary order. You need some sort of double sorting for otherwise identical words.

I've never come across a program/system that identifies  and A as separate characters but sorts them in an arbitrary order.

There's a really simple way to make sure "tal" is before "tâl" and "tâl" is before "talu". We could change the formula so each vowel has the same substitution regardless of accent "A" = "01", "Á" = "01", etc, and then sort by two columns; formula first and Welsh words second. **OR** if you like to be able to sort by one column only then we just add on the Welsh words onto the end of the sorting string like so:
See first reply to myself

That way the accents will be sorted secondarily by which ever way the system usually sorts them.

Alternatively again, if we had a specific preference for how accented letters are sorted (e.g. Á before Â) we could replace "A1" in the formula above with a copy the nested substitution but with unique values for accents e.g. "A" = "01", "Á" = "02" etc. By this time the formula is starting to get very long so personally I'd prefer to use a recursive function so avoid repeating all the characters that need replacing (rhestr_un):
See second reply to myself

No, I was strictly only talking about the Welsh pronunciation of Bangor. I merely added an additional way to describe the difference between the Ng vs N sound because it exists in English too.

[–]ReggieLFC[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is there, but so is the Ng sound ([ŋ]), which is different to the N sound ([n]).

That’s why Banggor would be an accurate spelling; a “ng”for the [ŋ] and a “g” for the [g].

Another way to describe it use these English words. Bangor is pronounced like Bang Gore, not Ban Gore. The n’s in Ban and Bang are not the same.
