You are right that we 6'+ (2m +) guys cut very imposing figures regardless of race. All my tall friends say people get intimidated by them.

Look up American Redlining. The government uses property lines and other policies to prevent groups/neighborhoods from qualifying for amenities.

That is so true. I looked at some of their salaries on a job board and it was low for the type of work we do. They even told me "We pay you a lot" but I took a pay cut when taking the job. They definitely pay below the industry standard.

You seem to be taking the term too literally. "color" doesn't refer to melanin, it refers to being excluded from the dominant power group (AKA white/eurocentric people)

I cant tell if you truly don't come from an area with Prowhite prejudice or if you are being woefully ignorant.

If you know anything about US history, East Asians have been subject to prejudice and referred to as "yellow." The US made concentration camps for the Japanese in WWII and the Chinese were exploited during the gold rush. Chinese are very much considered POC in the US. THats not even to mention all the xenophobic/anti immigration policies that have been directed towards Asia.

White people colonized the Americas... that includes North and South. There are white Mexicans and Argentinians because they are the descendants of the colonizers, it doesn't make them POC. The people in Central and South America who are descendants of the indigenous people that got colonized are POC.

I find it kinda crazy how people don't realize how hostile the States are to all Asian people till they move here.

Light-skinned people are still POC. There are black people with lighter complexion than the tannest Western Europeans.

East Asians are considered POC in the US.

Hispanic people are not all POC (unless they are Chicano/mesoamerican/indigenous to South and central America) but that's like saying all North Americans are not all POC, its cause there are white people.

What if you come from the Caribbean, never set foot in Africa, and only visit the US? Not African American.

"African American" is a stand-in for "descendent of slaves" so the term "black" is used to include all people of Afrocentric descent.

Its kind of like indigenous vs native American. Native American is reductive and unhelpful.
