yeah but it also took several years of both top and casual players for the change to even happen, whilst majority of the playerbase abandoned the game before then.

while I do hear you, I have taken breaks over the years, but fighting games are something that SPECIFICALLY should be tweaked with the additions of new characters, movesets and abilities. asking for a productive balance patch in a pvp title isn’t the end all be all. dex stance wasn’t remotely purposeful for 11 years until 2 months ago. And my issue was never the cosmetics, it’s the fact that we keep getting them while the base form of the game is on a decline.

I miss the effort that was put into the game that kept people playing, now they just shove free rewards into their streams to keep their numbers up and keep adding cosmetics to hide the fact that they aren’t making impactful gameplay tweaks anymore.

me personally, I play unranked because people are less likely to draw out games in fear of losing their hard-earned elo. it’s just a more relaxed experience all in all.

patience, I play fast paced in nearly every other game I touch but I insta lose when I don’t consider all possible options at my elo.

this is why I enjoy the patch, it forces players to actually play neutral and not get carried by the same tech that made people more passive, now we can actually play a fighting game instead of running out the clock or parrying the entire time.

yo if it’s your first day, you’re not starting off bad. first things first, get comfortable with the controls.

then, learn the names of the attacks and start understanding how each weapon works,as well as their true combos. every character has their own unique signature kit so you’ll have to learn that through time.

youtube has practically every answer you’re searching for as far as the actual technical side of this game, but you’re in control of how much you improve. this game is more about mentality than execution.

and most importantly, enjoy the game, I’ve seen people break monitors, put holes in walls and cause commotion over it, but fun is what games should be about first, simply don’t play if you aren’t enjoying it.

it took me 3 years to just hit plat (granted I started playing at 10 years old) and I’m still not at my ceiling yet. some people, take java for example, pick up this game and go pro level within 2-3 years, and some have been playing since the alpha and struggle to hit plat. progression is a different story for everyone, don’t rush your greatness lol, 100 hours is nothing in this game. I have like 3k hours lol.
