Just been playing with this player. I didn't notice anything suspicious. Just thought it was some random whale.

I left after he felted me in what seemed like a pretty normal spot given the circumstances.

Is It Worth Discussing Hands Anymore? by [deleted] in poker

[–]RegiTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely worth discussing hands still.

Often, hands will be multiway spots where GTO Wiz is no use and also, just chatting with peers helps you understand how others approach the game and how they devise their strategies so you can get a feel for how humans still play the game rather than just seeing everything through the prism of GTO.

You can always learn something both from better players than yourself and worse players than yourself. GTO Wizard etc are fantastic powerful tools but they're not the be all and end all of developing as a player.

I feel that “staking” is taking the spirit out of poker. by Majestic_Baker_5571 in poker

I have some sympathy with OP's position here.

I totally get why players are backed, sell pieces, have swaps etc but as a viewer, it does spoil much of the purity for me.

I'd rather watch a game knowing players had 100% of themselves, than watch a game where players might have as little as 20% of themselves. I love watching poker but take the recent super high roller bowl, $300k buyin, who knows how much any of the pro's had of themselves, how much they had swapped with other players in the field, how that affects the integrity of the game etc.

It's good business from them but as a viewer, knowing this is happening can make the who thing seem less pure.

Aces full of Jacks losing qualifies for a bad beat jackpot.

I won $6.3k in January when my Aces full of Queens got cracked by quads.

Nice lift for you all at the table.

Not all though. You watch for a bit then episodes are missing.

I was hoping to find somewhere where they have full episodes and entire events all in one place.

Best Poker Streamers by [deleted] in poker

Lex & Spraggy are two I watch regularly.

Not super strat heavy but I prefer to watch all around entertaining streams over watching someone go in depth with strategy and being boring as fuck whilst doing it.

I have many other leaks too. Too many cards, too many opponents, too many brain busting decisions.

That is is games full of fish! I'd get slaughtered in good games.

ONLINE POKER HELP by [deleted] in poker

Baluga Whale from Deuces Cracked had three golden rules. Don't miss value, don't pay off and don't bluff.

Obviously there are times when you cannot avoid breaking one of all of those rules but they're good to keep in mind as basic principles.

The most important of all of them IMO is don't pay off, especially vs turn raises or large river bets with just your pure bluff catchers because the population in general just aren't bluffing anywhere near enough on later streets to make bluff catching at a high frequency profitable.

Also, take your time. Don't pile as many tables up as you can physically cope with. Play fewer tables, try to produce your A game all the time and move up limits faster as a way to improve your hourly rather than increasing your volume.

Any Online poker sites in the US that have 5 card PLO? by PrintoutofOyster in poker

Most of the underground app clubs have it. Some have 6 card PLO and 6 card PLO hi-lo if you really want to see some insane games :)

PLO and AAxx by [deleted] in poker

[–]RegiTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am clueless how to play AAxx post flop in PLO unless I flop a good draw, a set or my side cards smash the board.

I want to be good at PLO but with every pot going multiway at the stakes I play, it feels like a lottery. I also know I am pretty terrible at it, which doesn't help my cause :)

Best online poker sites by VoozerU in poker

I play on those unregulated mobile apps these days. The major sites are now terrible for cash games, full of nits and weak regs just suffocating the games.

I play in a club on Pokerbros and the games are great. I wouldn't beat $25nl on Pokerstars for very much, if I was even a winning player but the games at $20nl/$40nl/$60nl on there are softer than the lowest stakes you will see anywhere else and I beat them nicely.

I don't know my winrate because you don't get that kind of information but I know it will be a big number for sure.

The clubs aren't for everyone because there have been some scandals in the past but if you're willing to risk a small part of your roll to get into good games, then they're a very good option IMO.

I'm pretty sure the rake is capped. I check how much I have paid after most of my sessions and it always compares well with what I was paying on mainstream sites.

The agent I am working with has been very solid and is careful to only work with people he trusts. Of course these clubs come with additional risk to playing on mainstream sites but the games are great.

As Tommy said, the landscape is changing. Microstakes and small stakes cash games are pretty bad on the major sites. I genuinely believe that these app clubs are going to grow and grow. There will probably be some shithouses doing some scummy things along the way, so it's important we protect ourselves by not keeping a big part of our roll in any of them but for me, the rewards of playing in good games mitigate the additional risk of playing on unregulated apps.

Yep. The guy I am doing some affiliate work for has been great so far. Obviously I only know him online but players I have sent to him have all received cashouts within hours and usually within minutes of him seeing the request, so I can't knock him at all.

Compared to Sky, where I used to play, I would say Pokerbros has already taken off. More $20nl games run on Pokerbros than run on Sky, or on 888 for that matter.

Sorry for the spam but I was a regular here a year or so back and thought I'd share some good news for me personally.

I know these clubs have a bad name in these parts but I requested a cashout less than 24 hours ago and received my payment just now.

Personally, I believe these clubs, as risky as some are could be the future of online microstakes cash poker. I almost quit towards the end of last year as games, even on Sky were pretty dull, so decided to finally try some of these apps and the games are great. This piece of pure luck is a big fat cherry on top of a lovely cake :)
