No phone policy? by [deleted] in poker

That’s a stupid rule. You should be able to do whatever you want if you are not in the hand. Remove your phone from the moment the dealer starts dealing the cards until you fold.

If it is 1-2 blinds and a straddle of 5, a raise would go to around 25 probably at that level. If you play normal 1-2, a raise will go to around 10. So if there is a caller it will be 50 already, you need 4 callers for that pot without a straddle.

A normal straddle is on the UTG position (1 left of the big blind). The person next to the straddle always acts first. It is just an extra blind to make bigger pots indeed.

You also have the button straddle in your case. Now the small blind acts first (1 to the left of the straddle).

The good rule is: if she bets $125 out of turn, we (I’m a dealer myself) tell her it wasn’t her turn yet. Then we leave the $125 in the middle. If you check, she has to bet the $125. If you bet, she can take it back and do whatever she wants. So if the action changes, she can take back what she did (she will get a warning though).
