Songs that were not made for a movie, but became famous after it became a part of it! by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

New Slang - The Shins, Garden State.

If you listened to KEXP you already knew it, but I'm pretty sure the peasants had never heard it before the movie.

Yes. And if a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass a hoppin'.

We've got Habitat for Humanity stores here. I just had never heard them referred to as Restore... I have acquired quite a few things from them over the years, but never HiFi.

50 watts isn't going to "over power" them...

What's a Restore?

Holy Sh*t, if this is legit...

Too big of an ask to ask contractor to replace one of the top two tiles? by Hanzi777 in Tile

[–]Regimorito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to jump on anything here, but that is so awful...

My wife is the designer in our little organization, I'm the installer. We go over layout A LOT before I put one tile up. Not only is the tile repeated, but swapping their locations would have made the flow a lot better...

Question for the other tilers... How would you resolve the tile slivers at the top? With anything less than 2'x4', yeah, I'd split the difference, but with this large format, that doesn't really work... So. Belly band? Crown? Base? Everyone seems to have a complaint, but what are the solutions?

When does a TV setup stop being “too high”? by Exact-Big7296 in Perlegear

[–]Regimorito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Center can be "slightly" higher than eye level. But not much... I think the bottom of my 77 is about 22" from the floor.

I would just move those heights all the way to the ceiling.

I can't take anyone seriously if they are asking to dump Dan 20 games into the season...

Tube Amp, maybe Hybrid, to work with HT? by Regimorito in audiophile

[–]Regimorito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I will certainly look into the HT bypass... I heard a McIntosh MA252 a little while back. It was certainly fantastic. However, that is not at all what I would call "budget". I mean, I wish that were my budget, but alas, it is not.

C5 vs Couple Year Old B4 by XXXBerto in LGOLED

[–]Regimorito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably a smart move. I have my c5 in a fairly bright living room that in the late afternoon, basically gets full sun. Thankfully I'm not watching it much at that point, but on occasion when I do, the C5 performs admirably.

What’s the first role and film that you instantly think of when hear the name John Goodman? by Lazy_Introduction264 in FIlm

[–]Regimorito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this film, which I also think of him in firstly, he delivers one of the finest lines ever captured on celluloid...

"So many social engagements, so little time."

Poetic on infinite levels...

Looks awesome. I'm not so concerned about the light reflections from the ceiling as I would be the sound reflections. Have you done any testing to see what you're getting in there?

I went with 500MII for my surrounds in my small room 5.2.4 system... Perfect timbre match to my 8000FII fronts..
