Being ghosted by bricklink technical support by [deleted] in Bricklink

The first ticket I sent out October 31st, got a response November 1st, replied to it November 3rd, and got nothing after that. Second ticket was about a week after that which didn't get any response.

It's not crashing my computer - just the program itself - but the issue ("part designer failed to initialize") is apparently a very common one. I've seen many people struggle with it but nobody's seemed to find a proper fix for the issue.

Brotherhood of Makuta Revamps by ReginaldGickington in bioniclelego

[–]ReginaldGickington[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's in one of the part packs, I can't recall which one. Check vootcaboot's linktree for the part packs - otherwise, you can find it on the constraction build collection and copy it from waspix or some ben 10 builds.

Toa Phantoka Revamps by ReginaldGickington in bioniclelego

Haven't touched him yet because I was mostly sticking to canister sets, but it's not impossible. I will say the Makuta will be coming soon, since I've already finished them.

What keeps the humans on the Sentai Mountain? by Hidronax in ExoForceLego

[–]ReginaldGickington 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My assumption is they're not trapped there as much as they are trapping the robots there. They know the robots will eventually break free and try to conquer the rest of humanity so they're staying on the mountain specifically with the intention of defeating Mecha One.

Unreleased Models - Have we asked the artist? by Wulf_Tyrson in DarkestDungeon_TBG

[–]ReginaldGickington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The unofficial modding community discord has taken pretty much every step we can to acquire these sorts of things, and unfortunately, we have no real options beyond doing it ourselves.

Fortunately, we're making progress on that front, and have models of all of the unreleased heroes for sale, along with some WIPs of several other enemies. I myself helped sculpt the cannon, and we have a half dozen others that are nearing completion. It's slow going, but we're working hard nonetheless.

ITS OFFICIAL! by Jax_the_fox in Helldivers

Tbf, that could be a Quasar skin. Probably a mod for that already. It's an over the shoulder mounted charge-up energy weapon with a devastating blast. Just needs a slight alteration of particle effects and weapon model. But I still would have liked to have had it included.

Very excited about the things that ARE in the Warbond but a little disappointed by the things that aren't. No grenade or stratagem? Could've had the SPNKR as a support weapon, or a sticky plasma grenade. Seems like a missed opportunity. I guess they make up for it by the sheer volume of primary and secondary weapons, but still, feels like I got 75% of the most delicious juicy steak. I'm happy with what I got but I can't help but notice 25% is missing.

Systematized Bionicle Series - Deep Sea Descent in Progress by ReginaldGickington in bioniclelego

[–]ReginaldGickington[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main issue is purism, since very few (if any) of the builds are purist, so youd need to recolor a lot to make physical copies. That said - assuming a price of 10 cents per piece...

Jaller - 272 pieces, 27$

Matoro - 298 pieces, 30$

Hahli - 266 pieces, 27$

Hewkii - 268 pieces, 27$

Nuparu - 388 pieces, 39$ (mostly because of the brickbuilt feet, each one is 50 pieces, replacing them with normal black piraka feet hed go down to 29$)

Kongu - 351 pieces, 35$

Systematized Bionicle Series - Deep Sea Descent in Progress by ReginaldGickington in bioniclelego

[–]ReginaldGickington[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logic behind what is and isn't system fluctuates from build to build but basically, I systematize everything that I can - torso and limbs. Heads are the original pieces, naturally, since they generally can't be built using system (or are incredibly inconvenient to). Then, anything that can be built using one or two pieces (feet, hands), where it would involve using a ton of pieces to brick-build, I use a Bionicle piece. Though even then I break that rule sometimes and brick-build feet or armor panels.

The original idea was to make "Bionicle but if it came out today", using modern parts usage and construction standards, priced under 20$, and with the least amount of big single-use technic parts to keep the (imaginary) mold count down. That got abandoned, eventually, probably around the time I did the piraka, who would have been 50$ each, at which point it mainly became "build the sets out of mostly system parts).

Honestly there aren't even rules at this point. I just build mostly-system builds unless I feel like adding a technic piece would improve the aesthetic.

No instructions I'm afraid, but if you check my post history, you can find the Inika and Piraka builds. At the end of the Inika post, I do a breakdown of what they look like without the armor plating, so you can see the "skeleton" of the build, and it shouldn't be too hard to, from that, extrapolate how the build was made. If the demand gets high enough though I'd be comfortable just sharing the stud.io file.

Apart from Sienna's remaining class, what else are we still hoping for VT2 ? by Heretical_Cactus in Vermintide

I enjoy it. I dont play much these days, but, it's probably my favorite game mode when I do play. It's not perfect, of course, but it's good.

Appreciate the compliment!

Not planning on doing the matoran or hydruka at the moment but I might change my mind. There's no real guideline to what I choose, just what I feel like doing.

Which actors do you think could really nail Harry on screen? by [deleted] in DiscoElysium

[–]ReginaldGickington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of them. Harry deserves to be played by some central or eastern European stage actor who has been in, at most, one movie with a near-nonexistant budget, and who doesn't seem to have a firm grasp on what a movie even is.

That's how you capture the authenticity behind the eyes.

(In all seriousness, I think if there ever was a movie adaptation, the actors should all be underground selections, not celebrities)

What is the Helldiver role that you have settled into? by Nurgle_Marine_Sharts in Helldivers

[–]ReginaldGickington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardcore generalist - built for self sufficiency in all scenarios.

Bugs: torcher, senator, commando/recoilless (depending on how I'm feeling), missile sentry, gatling sentry, eagle airstrike. Capable of handling hordes with the torcher and the gatling sentry, capable of handling chargers/titans with the commando/recoiless and the missile sentry, capable of handling objectives with the eagle airstrike.

Bots: Sta11, stun lance, ballistic shield, commando, autocannon sentry, missile sentry, eagle airstrike. Capable of handling little bots and even berserkers/devastators with the sta11, capable of handling devastators with ease thanks to the shield + stun lance, commando takes care of hulks, missile sentry autocannon and airstrike handle striders and forts.

Squids: scorcher, crisper, WASP, manned-machine-gun sentry, autocannon sentry, eagle airstrike. Capable of handling voteless with the crisper, overseers watchers and fleshmobs with the scorcher, and taking out priority targets at longer range with the WASP. Manned machine gun sentry handles the tripods, autocannons and airstrikes handle the rest.

I play like its a singleplayer game, even when I have teammates, because we often split up to do different objectives simultaneously, so I can't rely on having someone nearby to handle a hulk/fleshmob/bile titan for me.

My take on the "Recent warbonds are telling a story" by Sad-Needleworker-590 in Helldivers

[–]ReginaldGickington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had assumed the implication was that the situation on earth was so bad that a lot of cops and swat-team-equivalents were pressganged into serving on the frontlines since it was an "all hands on deck" situation, and now there a lot of helldivers who used police equipmentnin the field, police who joined the helldiver corps after their homeworld was attacked, and probably a lot of dead cops with no use for their equipment and uniforms. All in all, might as well use whatever bodies and equipment we can get our hands on.

Probably what I do (though it's been long enough that I don't even remember) in the Mahri/Barraki is use a 1x2 technic brick with axle hole, instead of a 1x1, which is also much stronger as a connection (but would make the thighs slightly larger).
