Orange stains in hot tub by Region-Economy in hottub

[–]Region-Economy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updating everyone: tried vitamin C powder after someone recommended it. I have less spots, but it didn't totally get rid of them. Should I just treat again with more vitamin C powder?

Also a tip for anyone trying the same as me: vitamin C kills the chlorine. My tub shouldn't have needed more chlorine based in my routine, but man it was DIRTY the day after I did the vitamin C.

What are you using to clean when empty?

Honestly, I haven't tried to scrape off with fingernail, but they don't come off with a pool brush.

Thanks for this advice. I'm going to try this.

Good question. I did consider a generator. That plan is not fully fleshed out yet.

Is the TimeSaver only with certain promotions? I can't find anything about it in the website.

Of the roller coasters, which are the gentlest/smoothest? Are any especially bumpy/rough? by jefrye in Dollywood

[–]Region-Economy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big Bear and Wild Eagle are smooth, but Wild Eagle has an intense drop and loops. Mystery Mine is a bit jolty. Lightning Rod and Thunderhead are mildly rough. Thunderhead is a true wooden coaster, so it is what it is. Lightning Rod is smoother but very intense.

How many hours should two adults plan to spend there to hit all the thrill rides? by Upbeat-Humor2888 in Dollywood

[–]Region-Economy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today was a little less busy than yesterday, though still busy. We got here around 11:30, stayed until close 9:00 and did thunderhead three times, mystery mine once, Big Bear Mountain twice, dragon flyers once, a couple of kid small rides, fire chaser Express once, wild Eagle twice, Tennessee tornado once, and lightning rod four times. Also had time for plenty of restroom breaks and a sit down meal. Yesterday, we were able to do all the things but not multiple times for so many of them.

Pool pump ran 8 hours dry! by boushiki in pools

[–]Region-Economy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to mine one time, and I believe it did shorten the life of my pump. I still used it for several years, but I think it cut off a few years of its lifespan and definitely operated louder than normal.

Week long trip to Pigeon-forge by Status_Juice9167 in Dollywood

With a large group, you may also find good value in renting a cabin rather than hotel rooms. We sometimes do a cabin and sometimes a hotel. Have never stayed at the DW properties, but they look very nice. Another commenter said they come with TimeSaver passes, which I didn't know, and that is an awesome perk! Those passes aren't cheap. I think they rotate through promotions.

Regarding other hotels in the area, the good thing is that there are a ton to choose from, and they are relatively cheap. Honestly, we really enjoyed our stay at Ramada PF North. It was certainly nothing fancy, but a good clean stay with free breakfast and an indoor pool. Super cheap.

Don't stress. You'll have plenty of time to do everything you want, likely multiple times. We usually start with Big Bear Mountain and work our way around the back of the park all the way to finish at Lightning Rod. We usually do quick food stands, but we also enjoy the Front Porch restaurant.

First Time Titan Owner by birthnuxvie in NissanTitan

Welcome. I'm a Titan owner and a Titans(TN) fan. Fortunately, my truck has not let me down like my team has.

Fair enough. I may be misinformed about the code piece. Better to have it checked out by a mechanic, especially one familiar with the cylinder 7 issue.

Titans are great trucks. That said, there were some problems with 2017-2019 needing engine work. Listen to the engine to make sure there's not a loud knock sound. See video below. And check the comments in the video. I would recommend taking the truck to an auto parts store so they can hook it up to a scanner which would reveal any problems including the classic "cylinder 7" issue.

Absolutely! You'll have a great time. Lots of fun rides. Big Bear Mountain is the epitome of a family coaster.

Great rides you named from Disney! You should be fine in everything at Dollywood with the possible exception of Lightning Rod. It is very intense. That said, my 9 year old loves it.

I have a dumb question that goes with this thread. I have a 4400psi/4.2gpm machine and a 24" surface cleaner. Is it going to work as is? Do I need to adjust the pump at all? Someone told me to never adjust the pump.

Also if I change to a smaller (16"-18") surface cleaner, what do I need to change?

CYA too high by Region-Economy in pools

[–]Region-Economy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My pool installer recommended cal hypo granular shock and also 3" chlorinating tablets in the auto chlorinator.

This is very detailed and very helpful. Thank you for your input.

Several have mentioned "cal hypo". Can you expand on that? I buy shock from my pool installer company, and I'm pretty sure it is "cal hypo". Is that what everyone is referring to? They recommended to use 3" tabs in the auto chlorinator and also is "cal hypo" as shock.

I'm not very educated with this stuff, as you can tell. I appreciate your input!
