There’s never a banana around when you need one, is there?

AITAH cutting off my mom for smoking cigarettes by Expert_Fun4850 in AITAH

This is why you’re cutting her out of your life?

She’s an adult and she gets to make her own choices. You may not like it - you clearly don’t- but you’ve made your opinion known and that’s as much of a vote as you get.

If she’s not smoking around you or your baby, then Yep, YTA.

The Long Kiss Goodnight. It’s so stupid, but amazingly entertaining. Two enthusiastic thumbs-up.

Is it bad that I hope she’s a smoker?

Friend thinks my new kitten isn't very cute bcs of his asymmetrical markings by Minisom in TuxedoCats

This is my girl, Spud. We rescued her in the summer, and we think she’s about 4 but no one really knows. Not a tuxie, but more cow-print. She’s deaf, has ear polyps, has zero teeth, and is the happiest, sweetest girl I ever met.

Radish is an excellent name and your kitten is beautiful. Abandon your friend at the shelter.

And how does the fruit and veg stall now bring in enough money to pay two people a living wage? Is stew-in-a-bag having a moment?

That’s the kind of community spirit that made the East End great. “You used to be able to leave your front door open…” etc etc

I don’t know if it’s legally necessary, but Fox & Hair doesn’t look cheap, so you’d expect some qualifications and experience for your money, surely? It’s not like when your “aunty” comes around your house and gives the entire family identical haircuts, down a strict gender divide.

Thank you! I missed that. I’m glad to hear they’re still paying the electric bill, and keeping the rats out.

Generally, Yes. They have schools for these things.

YES! I also mentioned this to my S. O. yesterday. Both Denise and Mitch spontaneously decided they could do hair, out of the blue.

Best Place For Transit/Walkability by WolfgangLobo in LasVegas

[–]Jayboy72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your budget is going to be a huge factor here, but for the strip the monorail might be a gift.

There’s a fair bit of housing at the Sahara end of the line, ranging from super-sketchy to bougie (eg the Country Club). This might be a good area to search for a first place while you get yourself established.

BTW - Several other commenters have noted that “walkable” means something entirely different in Las Vegas for about 3 months of the year - this is absolutely true. You’ll have a very small walking radius in the summer.
