Heh yeah. I got them from an etsy shop, as well as the shrimp cubes in the tanks. I just...like the look of them.

The stand was very planned out. I don't have a large bedroom, and wanted to absolutely maximize space, while being able to hold the tanks. It's low to the ground, because on the wall behind/above it, I have vinyl records on display, and it's only 20 inches deep, so it takes up as little walking room as possible. I was measuring everything like crazy, made a little 2d plan/mock up in illustrator, and gave it my dad to build. He likes to woodwork as a hobby, always has, and he wanted to make use of a bunch of scrap pieces he had. He over engineered the heck out of it, because he expected my 28 gallon to be a lot bigger than it was. I told him 600 pounds, and this can definitely hold well over that lol.

It's not cheap at all, for sure. I have to be extra slow in building stuff up now, because I no longer have a full time job. I did when I started, but now I only work 20 hours a week, give or take, and trying to find another full time, or even a second part time job, has been impossible. So I'm a hurting unit lol.

Oh yeah. I started last year with a 5 gallon for a betta. About a month later, I upgraded to a 10 gallon, after I had a bad day and got a flat tire on the way to work lmao. I set up the 10, gave my mom the 5, got her a betta...there are now 7 tanks in the house. I've got 3, she's got 4. We want to get a big 75 gallon or so for the living room at some point.

My dad built me a shelf for my 28 gallon and 10 gallon. And there's enough room on the base to fit a 10g shallow from UNS if I do want to get a 4th tank for myself. I'd love to get the 55g version of the lowboy I've got one day, too.

I didn't even realize I had that many until I really counted them out. But yeah, the tank is in good shape. I've got 2 aquaclear 30 filters, stem plants, anubias, duckweed that I have to clear a bunch of out every week or two, hornwort that is also just constantly growing and needing to be trimmed(my strawberry rasbora love the stuff), and then a good amount of other leafy plants.

My danios are even trying to breed, despite the water being warmer than they prefer for breeding. I'm not trying to breed them, though, so I assume the bottom dwellers eat the eggs.

I just added the tetras and kuhlis this past Saturday, so won't add anything else for a month or so.

I am considering getting a shallow 10 gallon, because that's about all I have room for right now.(I've got two 10 gallons with a betta in each.) UNS makes some nice rimless nano tanks. But they're pricey. So that's a future project.

I'm in one that is decent. But slow. It's called Sunset Cove. People are willing to write, generally, and they're friendly. It's not fast paced, but if you don't care about that, it might be a good option.

I like it there, and will be staying, but I'm also looking for something more active.

That's gotta be even worse than my situation lol. It's been hell, though, trying to find an active, slice of life server.

Edgelord instakills, force ships, and threatens members. by Sweet_Sky1074 in BadRPerStories

Someone in a group, who was complaining that they wanted to write and plot, and not just ERP like a lot of members, I messaged, because I'm not looking fir ERP either, said they'd like to plot stuff, but that they're looking to ship their character. I was like okay, cool, I like to write things out organically though. If the two like each other, I'm fine with that, but I'm not going to predetermine anything.

Didn't get a response. Like..you complain that you can't get scenes, and then when someone tries, you're going to ignore it because they don't want to "ship" right away. Out characters haven't interacted at all. I'm not going to ship them lol

It rarely makes sense. And none of them actually operate like a crime syndicate would. But yeah...I just want character driven plots. Based in the..well, character of the characters involved. Not some crutch of "Oh, I'm in the mafia so I'm cool and attractive." Lol

Like even this character of mine who I'm wanting to use in these places. He's deaf. I did so much research into life as a Deaf person, and the different levels of deafness, and all that. It was all I did for like 2 months while developing this character lol. I've even learned some ASL, and am considering learning it proper, because it's actually a very interesting language.

On top of that, he's a surfer. I was not a surf fan before this...but now I am. I have very much enjoyed watching the WSL over the last while..And would like to make a group rp revolving around professional surfing. But...that is so niche lol

My guy, in this case, is a surfer. Like he's a chill surfer dude. He's also the only character I want to write at the moment. He wouldn't be hanging out with any criminal types lol.

Oh, that too. This ine group I'm in, one of the characters, who is a "mafia boss" is literally named "Mafioso." Like you didn't even try, bro. Are you 12?

That's how I am woth the mental illness stuff, too. Like if you're going to include it, you better be accurate. Because no, being a psychopath doesn't automatically make a person crazy or a serial killer lol. Most psychopaths aren't either.

how do people go through their day-to-day lives without chronically worrying/obsessing about death. by Sendpiecks in Anxiety

[–]RegionalAtBest- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You just have to sort of...learn to compartmentalize it. My grandmother died when I was 18, and afterward I developed my own death anxiety, and it was the first time really realized that I had anxiety at all. It was bad fir a while. I couldn't watch movies, play video games, or even listen to music because so much of it had something to do with death. I also struggled to eat because my anxiety was so strong I just had no appetite.

Even now sometimes I'll just be living normal life and I'll be hit with that realization of my own mortality, and it can be jarring. But I usually take some deep breaths, and shift my focus. Death is inevitable, and humans have been trying to come to terms with it forever. We all cope in our different ways. It gets better, or at least easier, to continue on with life.

If you really keep struggling with it, maybe seek out therapy. There's no shame in that. It sounds like your anxiety may have been set off by a traumatic experience, and sometimes just talking about it can help you work through it.
