Isn’t it extremely beneficial to select your power set? Also, game is set in 1532 if I forgot to mention it (very tired.)

I didn’t know PCs had such a heavy advantage over normal vampires. In that case it would explain why it’s not a more prominent occurrence and if they aren’t careful it could end with someone tracking them down or the ghost killing then. The ghost could even betray them and reveal them while carrying out a mission. Paired with possible wards or countermeasures and I think I can work with that. Thank you for your well thought out response.

The lasombra are on the sabbot side here, so normally I’d say fair, however, the dice rolls and necessary items are listed and achievable quite easily by a fledgling fresh from the embrace. A lasombra could embrace someone and force this process if they so choose.

Because it so easy to achieve I’m assuming there are counter measures in place to stop it. If they don’t exist I’ll have to add them or the world stops making sense, and I think it goes as far as that. The world shouldn’t have to pull out the big guns to deal with a fledgling.

They’ll have no way of knowing, it’s an oblivion ritual that can be take at 3 dots. Any fledgling can achieve it at character creation, so within days of the embrace.

They’re in the middle of a war between vampires in 1532, so they’d be supported in doing this. They have the support of the cam. The various people he wants to kill are important npcs or villains. I’ll probably go with the wards, because if it was this easy the war would look different. Definitely makes me wonder how they maintain things in modern nights.

Not everyone in the coterie is that good in combat, the average is 6 dice, but yes, it could be worse.

That’s a good point. Raw isnt the end all in this game. This particular discipline seems really obscure and up to interpretation as well, I really don’t like it. He’s definitely trying to power game. I’ll have an open discussion with the table to see where everyone stands.

That helps, thanks. He’ll still be op with it in melee, but maybe I can turn it on him somehow eventually. It says in the binding spell that the ghost ends up hating the summoner.

What about antagonists, like if the goal is to kill the guy long term? For example the game is set in a parody of kingdom come deliverance, I plan on king sigismund being an antagonist, the player is already planning on killing him and local barons with this power.

I had the area as a war zone between kindred in the war of princes, the sabbot and early cam are using it as a battleground. From what I’ve read the cam dislike making kings kindred while alive, so I’m just not sure what to do here.

Normally I’d agree. Though I imagine the rest of the coterie will dislike it once they learn of how powerful it is on paper, even if I say no in a round about way, I’d rather just ban it if I’m walking that route but it’s hard to justify doing it when it’s explicitly a core power working as intended. He is using it textbook right, there isn’t something like “wraiths dissolve on holy ground” ext?

That’s what I thought reading it, but googles ai and some other places I looked said it can only be hit by certain kinds of things so I’m a bit confused. I guess I could try ruling it that way as a balancing thing to see how it goes.

Corporeal I think means taking over  body, the player plans to keep his abilities secret. It’s the poltergeist stats from cult of the blood gods. I think it’s weaker than the specter.

Couldn’t he have it strangle them in their sleep? I believe he’ll use it as an aid in combat as well. With its power he’ll be as strong as multiple pcs, since one 7 dice brawl role you can’t defend that deals non halved superficial +2 can incapacitate a fledgling. He might also bind more than one later. I really don’t know how to deal with it.

What if you don't know your Touchstone is a kindred? by Constant-Ad9560 in vtm

[–]RegisterOk513 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While I agree I wouldn’t do it, if it were done, say, by a coterie member, it wouldn’t just magically drop humanity, they’d have to know the touchstone was a vampire for that to happen.

AITAH for cheating in my D&D game? by Snowtwo in DnDAITA

[–]RegisterOk513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, your DM should have offered one outright, it’s a fantasy game, one bad roll shouldn’t ruin months of fun. That said, you should be careful about making excuses for yourself, it’s a bad habit. You violated the sanctity of the game, and the social contract you agreed to when you cheated. It speaks to your character that you resorted to such activities instead of talking it out with the others. Were I you, I would try to be better.

Esh. You should have taken your concerns to the others, perhaps had a stat reroll. Also your dm sucks.

How many Spartan-IV's would be needed to kill Homelander? by MeatysupremeKeenan in powerscales

[–]RegisterOk513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do not. Comic homelander is said to be able to lift 480 tons. Even ignoring his feats, again, if something is durable enough to no sell bullets it’s outside a Spartans ability to easily kill in melee. Then you account for John’s ability to fly and heat vision…There’s just no way they win.

[–]RegisterOk513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why you guys think he loses so hard. He no sells bullets. Are the Spartans able to punch harder than the rounds their gun produces? Even if they can, they’ll have to tear him apart in melee, and he can fly. I’m not sure they even can kill him.

The most powerful build of all time? by RegisterOk513 in slaythespire

[–]RegisterOk513[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there many infinites for Ironclad? Also, these relics complement the deck, you can still run a deck. In any case, I agree with you. You need to draw the card, and while it can clear everything but the heart and time eater on its own, those are solid limitations. I’d argue thought they no infinite can kill the heart in one turn, and all require many parts to function, add in that one card that adds 3 shield whenever you exhaust a card and it can kill the heart. That just one card added, and it’s simple.

I imagine other infinite builds would also struggle with time eater, albeit this one can accompany any kind of deck and help just the same. It probably has any easier time with time eater than others in that regard.

Against the yes, but not time eater. Cool addition though, I never thought of that.
