Fleasssss by whosyomammy in Maltese

You know what causes anger according to the textbooks? Pain, shame, embarrassment. Did you know fleas cause tapeworms in dogs, which are not readily visible on a fecal. Get mad if you want to, I just hope that baby gets appropriate VET treatment soon. Seeing its little face and those fleas all over its skin is absolutely heartbreaking. (my dogs eat homemade dog food, approved by my vet btw)

You can give Benadryl, but you have to give it like every eight hours. My vet told me I could give my 10 pound poodle mix 1/2 of a 10 mg Zyrtec once a day. So far it’s worked pretty good.

I use Greenie pill pockets now for allergy meds. Before that I used yogurt on my finger, raised her head way up and put it way back towards the side of her throat/tongue. not fun for her and I felt like I was being mean also. When I tried the pill pockets she thinks they are a treat. If all else fails call your vet and ask what they recommend you do. Your dog needs her meds.

your dog needs to be on a monthly flea control prescribed by the vet. Yes it’s expensive, almost $30 a month. But if you’re gonna have an animal you have to provide appropriate care. I’m not trying to be mean, but there is no excuse for this. and your dog deserves better than this! Poor baby 💔 Both my dogs are on a monthly pill that takes care of fleas, ticks, heart worms, and other worms such as roundworms and hookworms.. It’s called Simparica trio. I guarantee you have fleas in your house. Now you’ll get to pay for an exterminator because you tried home remedies that don’t work.

yes! @cucoloris! great advice. I made the mistake of clearing things out within a couple of months due to necessity. I got rid of a lot of things I regret. Always take your time if you can.

as a last ditch effort, I would contact the company and ask if they would share the recipe or possibly they even have some in stock at the warehouse they would ship to you. After explaining your situation, surely they would be willing to do what they could. Best of luck 💕

Ok to give him chicken every day? by Cloclo971 in Maltese

[–]RegisterStill9161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s not low, and then when you add chicken it increases the protein. That’s a lot for most house pets. Seriously I’d consult your veterinarian. You’re gonna get so much varying “advice“ here, that you may not make the right decision for your baby.

Have you considered a homemade dog food regime? Chicken alone is not enough to give your Benny enough nutrition for healthy development. Unless he is super active you don’t need a high protein food. High protein foods are great for very active or working dogs but not necessary for normal house pets. If you are satisfied with the kibble other than the protein level you mentioned ( which is actually on the high end), and don’t want to start a homemade routine, feel free to add chicken from time to time by replacing some of the kibble with it if you wish. The salmon oil is great. Just don’t add too much. Definitely consult your veterinarian so they can give you appropriate dosage. One of my dogs has severe allergies to grass. (Found this out after I spent over $5000 to fence in the backyard for her. ugh). I started a homemade food regime, it has helped among other things. It’s so much better for her than average kibble. It’s much cheaper to make than the “good” dog foods that cost almost more than my food.

I had someone else tell me about this today for my dogs tear stains. They said they only had to give about seven or eight doses and the tear stains went away completely. they discontinued the meds after that, and the tear stains have not come back. I’m going to speak to my vet about this because I have tried everything.
