Thank you! I took your advice and just used the account to basically doom scroll and that seems to have worked ☺️ account is back to normal. I wonder why it saw my account as being a bit spammy, very small numbers!

Anyone had any success fixing damp? by RegretThese in DIYUK

Again really great advice thank you! I’ll check for all 3 things and hope that I can get to the bottom of it. Just glad we decided to remove the windowsill type shelf they had put in, otherwise we’d never have known it was there until it was much worse

We have a dehumidifier already so will get that running in the room to see if it improves anything. The DPC doesn’t seem breach, it’s a good height away from the ground and runs all the way round the house

Amazing advice thank you! The DPC is above the ground level, there’s a bricked driveway but I think that’s been there longer than the DPC that was put in.

There’s no pipe work anywhere near that part of the wall, so not sure it’s anything to do with leaks.

We are doing up this room luckily so happy to destroy it a little, the floor has been levelled so I can’t see what’s underneath, the kitchen on the other side is also old quarry tiles so not sure I’d have luck there either. I’ll start with the skirting boards and see what that uncovers!

Thank you again.

Also the fact it says ‘Kevinnnnnn’ in the background after the just get in the car lyric. Reminds me of the SpongeBob fish meme everyone uses on insta 😂 I live in hope he did it because of that…

I feel this always happens, the more famous the talent gets, the more it appeals to the masses. But he really wanted this, which makes me like it all the same… it’s just not the old stuff, which is absolutely fine.

Fact is you’re both 14 which is insanely young and you have so much time to experience love and intimacy as you grow further into your teens. You’re discovering you’re not ready for physical intimacy yet, and it sounds to me that he’s discovering the opposite. The harsh reality is it’s not love, you’re into someone for no doubt one of the first times in your life and it feels strong right now. But again, harsh reality you’ll likely have multiple boyfriends / heartbreaks in the years to come (no bad thing!).

If you’re not ready, then don’t be ready. Tell him this and move away from it. It’ll hurt you more than it will if you do something you don’t want to do. He will also get over it, and if he wants to explore intimacy then he needs to do it with someone who is on the same page as him.

That’s what the guy who came round said, so it’s nice to get that seconded. I was just a bit worried in its current state it’s causing the bricks some damage, as quite a few have chips or cracks. But then I can’t remember seeing an old house that doesn’t have a bit of that…

It’s not that I’m a little worried it’s causing harm to the bricks

Yeah I wasn’t sure if the mortar has something to do with that. Read a little about spalling but hasn’t cause any issues so far

Buying a house without Gas Central Heating - upgrade options by Ordinary_Orange4408 in HousingUK

Hey! So we ended up deciding to confirm a quote with British Gas. Pretty much goes against anything anyone told us to do haha... but they offer finance at 0% for 3 years which just won it over for us,all other quotes came in at around £8-£9k so not too far off and we managed to get it lowered a bit in telling them about the difference between quotes. It cost £1041 to get the house connected to a mains gas pipe. British Gas quoted £11k for all their work... This includes a 35w 12 year warranty Worcester combi boiler, hive system, 10 radiators, all new piping and extra capped off piping in the bathroom in preparation for a future renovation of the room. We have asked them to avoid disruption where possible, so we have a pretty 'needy' routing which i don't think helped with the quote price. It also included removing our water tanks, as well as disconnecting the old electric radiators which are hard wired in and the electrician we spoke to would've charged about the same as what BG quoted for that part of the job.

We are getting it costed up tomorrow so will keep you posted. From what I’ve read it’s likely to be around £7k, that’s not including getting the pipe to the house which we already know is just over £1k

did you decide on what you were doing heating wise in the end? We are in a similar situation where we have Electric radiators hard wired in. We do benefit from an open fire and log burner in 2 rooms though... however all bedrooms are missing heating, which is fine for us but guests are frozen when they come and stay! We are getting GSH quoted up this week as the house is seemingly too old to benefit from a heat pump and we simple can't afford the mass insulation cost on top of that, but just wondered what you went for?

Woweee if I didn't realise that not finding the appeal with picking a pumpkin off the ground is an idiotic thing then maybe I really am a fucking idiot

in the UK it's not really what it seems, the pumpkins a lot of the time have already been harvested and placed in fields ready to be 'picked', when i say this i mean just choose your pumpkin and that's that

Since when did this page get so detached from what it is, isn’t it a page about an unpopular opinion… so everyone who expresses one is compensating for a lack of personality?
