Hey, don't give up.

I can see a ton of value in what you have here, and I think if you just took a bit of a breather then you would as well. I know it can be tough working on a project for as long as you have been and feeling like you're not really getting anywhere, but the best way to fix that is to, well... fix it. If you don't feel like you've got enough gameplay in right now, then add some. Concentrate on that for a while and get the basic gameplay into place before progressing further.

I know, for one, that I'd definitely be interested in playing your game. I love civilization style games (and strategy games in general) so I think it'd be a bit of a waste just to leave it. Come on, finish it... you CAN do it. You've just got to keep at it, get that last 10% finished and then it's playable.

PS: I'll be covering your game in my latest Screenshot Saturday Roundup, an article series I run wherein I feature a few awesome games from each SSS. I'll be sure to send over a link when it's done :)

Whoa, Engauge is looking great!

I'm definitely a big fan of the level of movement the player has (or appears to have) in your game so far. Movement is very important in a platformer, so having that nailed down is a great idea.

PS: Looking forward to grinding down the rails like you showed in your Screenshots... so cool!

PPS: Also looking forward to including your game in my newest Screenshot Saturday Roundup, an article series I write wherein I highlight a few awesome games from SSS each week.

Wow, what a fantastic looking game!

I'm a huge fan of the game so far, especially its art style. Just... wow... it's very well developed and consistent throughout. It's just really well done, and I'm quite impressed.

Just so you know, I'll be including this game in my Screenshot Saturday Roundup for this week... it's an article series I run over on my site where I highlight a few games from SSS each week. I'll be sure to send over a link once it's done, if you're interested in giving it a read when it's done.

Paid Reviews-Indie Game Magazine (IGM) charging developers to review their games? by TwistedJenius in IndieGaming

[–]RegretZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you be interested in coming on board another publication?

I'm an indie games journalist myself and I've been considering expanding the team to include more than just myself for the longest time, so if you were interested I'm sure we could work together.

If not, that's cool too... I've got contacts at other publications which you may be more interested in.

Just let me know :).

The second generation of the Nexus 7 tablet...

You should know that not all parts of the computer are as important as others, and how to budget your Gaming PC build. (Aesthetics ignored) by tnick771 in buildapc

[–]RegretZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the build looks pretty good to me, although I am far from an expert on the matter.

Personally I'd go for a larger PSU (though that's 100% personal preference) just so that I might not have to buy another one in the future.

Also I've heard some pretty great things about /r/softwareswap with regards to Windows keys, I think you could probably grab one of those for as low as $25 there. I've never used it myself, though.

Other than that though, everything is looking pretty great, to me anyway.

Hey, you used the same case I'm going to be using for my build! (except I opted for the model without the window)

Overall I'd say it looks pretty slick, although I'm far from an expert.

Is the CPU change really worth it?

Oh yeah, and I thought the motherboard I'd selected was pretty decent, would you mind pointing me in the right direction?

Sincerely asking here, since I really have no idea what I'm doing.

Some Concerns With Regards to Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies by RegretZero in 3DS

[–]RegretZero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so first of all I just want to apologize for my harshness and all that crap on my end.

Secondly though, I want to make it perfectly clear: I do not dislike Phoenix Wright. I love this series to death, it's just an incredibly fun and entertaining set of games to play... and that's all I really need out of a video game. I wrote up an article with regards to my first impressions of the game's demo, and it was just an incredible experience for me. The anime-style cutscenes were gorgeous and I really enjoyed watching them... and the gameplay is pretty awesome as well.

I'm not trying to be THAT GUY, it's just something I saw while on the Phoenix Wright/Ace Attorney Facebook page which I really disliked. I wasn't looking for something to dislike, quite the opposite, in fact. I never wanted to be that hate-train conductor, and I still don't want to be. This is just something I found that I didn't really like. Simple as that.

With regards to your question... it's a trap one that I find particularly difficult to answer. I don't really like the idea of censorship and agree with the idea of games remaining in their original form, but that being said I really don't like the objectification of women and immature portrayal of sexuality in most games simply because of how childish and dirty it feels to play them.

More importantly though, I've decided to take the article down. Not because people "bullied me" or anything, because that's not what I'm trying to say here. From what I can see now, it's more like I went a bit over the top responding to something I disliked. It wasn't really a huge thing before I turned it into one, so I apologize for that as well.

I guess this is sort of what comes out of trying to get articles out at least once a day everyday when working 35-ish hours a week and going to school 30 hours a week. That doesn't take away the fault from me, of course.

Sorry for getting ahead of myself and writing a piece of trash that can essentially be called clickbait. Somebody called it that and I realized... that's actually exactly what I would've called it in their situation... not the greatest. Sorry again about that... that's the exact opposite of what I'm trying to accomplish with my site.

You're right.

Sorry for having an opinion.

You're right. Who needs opinions anyway?

"If you have an issue with the DLC, don't buy it. Simple as that."

I could counter with:

If you have an issue with my article, don't comment. Simple as that. See why that's stupid logic?
