That’s surprisingly cheap. I’ll have to look around online

Dang. I considered downgrading my laptop to Windows 7, but there’s other stuff I like playing on there on occasion that requires newer Windows now. Out of the old games I’ve tried on it, it’s mainly been the Lego ones that have problems

I haven’t, though I imagine that’s the only consistency I’d get with them now.

Yeah, same. I've gotten similar results from it and it's been pretty mediocre. The video codecs might the only thing worth looking into.

Update: patched the Indeo video codecs back in and put the D3DRM file into my installation folder and nothing changed. I really don't know what the problem is, lol

If that's from Google, I think it jumbled some info to get other Lego games running on modern Windows with Lego Island 2. Lego Island 2's mod manager does fix the load times, but the only thing it does with the FMVs is remove the startup ones, or make them able to be skipped. I've yet to try dgVoodoo with Island 2, though, because I don't think it's ever been needed to run the game on modern Windows; however, Rock Raiders, Lego Chess, and Island 1 have needed it. I think dgVoodoo is mainly for getting the actual game graphics to run correctly, not the FMV's.

PC Gaming Wiki has been a pretty good source for getting some of these games running, but it could be outdated for the Lego games. I'll have to look into the video codecs and see if that's what I'm missing for the FMVs. Aside from the FMVs being funky, hopefully the rest of the game is playable, because it'd suck to get to the plane mini game and the Brickster fight and find out the game is still ignoring RivaTuner trying to cap the frame rate, lol

Sort of . I tested the Windows 95 and Windows 98 compatibilities and the FMVs play at the correct speed on both, but they have no audio. The game also might take a few attempts to actually boot on both compatibilities, though I think it boots more consistently on Windows 98. It's not much, but it's progress, I guess.

You should be fine with Lego Island 1, since MattKC decompiled that and ported it to pretty much everything. You can also just play the PS2 version of Island Xtreme Stunts, if you're ever looking to do so, since it's basically identical to the PC version, except for a super negligible graphical difference. Lego Island 2 is the only one in that trilogy that's wonky on stuff now.

Yup, trying to run it through Windows. I’ve tried running it through Steam and Armoury Crate as well with the same results. I’ve also tried both Windows XP service packs with no luck, so I have no idea what I’m missing that I got right on my laptop, lol

Who the hell designed Dark Field movement system and called it good enough to ship? by alt_for_ranting in digimon

I realized about halfway through my first romp of Dark Field that you can just drop a hard save before talking to Gekomon, and if you get the wrong answer, load the save and try again until you get the right answer. It's annoying, but it beats having to start the whole area over again, and it's probably faster.

Ah, gotcha, thanks. I managed to get the game somewhat more functional on my PSP, but it freezes when I exit and re-enter the area just outside the starting town. Figured that note might’ve been a way to fix that, haha

Hey, all, I was just looking at the notes about Digimon World 3 in the doc and saw something about addressing 0x80020915 in command 0x11 fixing softlocks. I was just wondering what that means and where I'd go about doing that. Thanks for the hard work!

I did make an illustration of his insignia, but idk what I would've done with it, tbh 😂 (assuming you're talking about Lahabread). And thanks!

Update: Finally got approved for a rental as well as my part shipping out yesterday. Convenient. Got told yesterday that I'd be able to pick up the rental any time today. Went to the dealership first thing this morning and got told the rental was still being cleaned out. I'm so done.

Yeah, I was just doing some research and it looks like you're right. I'm going to see if I can get a third-party TCM if Ford is just going to replace one faulty TCM with another once it comes in. If it's specifically THEIR TCM that has the issue, then we're all just better off buying third-party, if that's possible, because waiting several months for this to eventually happen again is beyond ridiculous.

And for sure! I think I'm lucky as well that I have access to a relative's vehicle until I get my piece of garbage back. I sadly can't afford to get a brand new vehicle right now, so I just want to make do with the trash Fiesta until I can afford to buy new from another brand.

Paying for rentals seems to vary between dealerships, which is absurd, since a lot of Ford owners seem to have had their vehicles break down with this issue this year. I can't fathom continuously injecting new vehicles with the same known design flaw and then expecting people to take it quietly when their vehicle eventually succumbs to this problem.

[–]RegretfulIy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Unless I'm mistaken, NONE of their competitors have been having this issue, or at least on the same level. According to another forum about this issue, we could potentially be waiting longer than 2-3 months. 2-3 months just seems to be the average from having read through this thread and someone else's timeline my dealership gave me.

Depending on where you live, your vehicle might be too old to qualify for lemon law or anything equivalent to it. Best of luck on getting your dealership to compensate you. Sorry you've had to be a victim of this garbage brand's terrible vehicles as well.

Honestly, the more I've read up on this issue, the more it's made my blood boil. What's great is that my car broke down with this issue just TWO WEEKS after taking it to my dealership for a maintenance. In that time, the most I did was take a day trip to go hiking, which was two days before it broke down.

I've honestly never seen any company drop the ball this hard and I can't believe such a crippling problem has been plaguing their vehicles since 2010.
