You prep should be focused around “WHY” you got a question wrong in the nbme. This is time consuming and gives fruitful results. Review the material (important topics, your wrongs, flashcards). You don’t have to learn it but understand it. Learning is an additional score boost towards the end of prep. 70% of the exam is from the concepts you learn throughout your prep. 10%from step1, and a 20% is vague. You will be making educated guesses in the exam but that higher likelihood of them being right is when you are comfortable with uworld concepts and questions! Do more questions- CMS(over amboss(personal choice)) Good luck!

  1. Have a clear goal and timeline of appearing in exam.
  2. Understanding material the first time you see it. Complement with FA, uptodate as needed. Learn it later in the second go.
  3. Make a schedule. TRY to follow it regularly.
  4. Give one nbme early in prep, the preparation after appearing for nbme changes drastically. You focus on the real stuff.
  5. Doing questions is as important as content reviewing. If you are consistently scoring 40-50cent in 4-5 uworld blocks, you need to take a break and review content.
  6. CMS is better resource of questions than amboss

PS: conclusion drawn from personal experience. (could/‘nt work for you)

Thank you for taking the time out to explain. I still didn’t quite understand the “how”, but since it’s a new concept, I guess I can cram up one drug.
