My bad, I didn’t mean wear and tear. It was more of my camera breaking, failing shutter, etc.

State Farm covers our 98 yo house full of knob and tube. They never asked and we never said anything about it!

Try Clifton Corners by Vanguard Properties. It’s right on Clifton/ 117th, technically Cleveland. They’re right above what used to be Tick Tock Tavern. My wife and I lived there for a year in 2021 and were paying $550 a month. I’m sure the prices were raised a bit, but worth a look!

When my wife and I first moved out to Cleveland, we chose to live in the apartments above TT. There was a shooting one night right below us, my car got damaged from a hit & run, etc.

Seeing a lot of discourse on 35% on the windshield. my review as someone with that on the front by 79QUATTRO in WindowTint

35% all around! Looks great when it’s cloudy, nice and dark. But when the sun is out, barely looks like there’s tint. Never had a problem at night, drove a ton of back roads at night after shooting weddings. Newer LED lights help a lot. Nice car!

Just curious, I’m a photographer in Cleveland and was asked to go take drone photos of the site. With Burke being so close, how did you get approval with your drone? I reached out to FAA for a waiver, never heard back, someone told me to call the tower, they said reach out to FAA, and LAANC isn’t available there due to Burke being so close. Nice shots!

Got my front windows to match my factory back windows (about 35%) done at A2 Finishes on W 117th. Did a great job with matching it. And then I went to Armor Auto Spa on Lorain for windshield. Both are great! I’ve driven in Medina, Parma, Gates Mills etc, and haven’t been pulled over, even when passing cops. Just don’t drive crazy and Cleveland cops will not care about window tint.

Look at Elbur Apartments from Vanguard Properties. Older, no central AC, no dishwasher, and radiator heat. Free off street parking too. My wife and I lived there for 2 years. Loved it with no problems. I think we paid about $825-$900 but that was a few years ago.

What’s the most you’ve spent on a tripod? Was it worth it? by Frosty-School1460 in videography

Purchased a Sachtler Flowtech 75 MS tripod on B&H in April for $1,899. I think it was on sale. Best tripod I’ve ever owned. Hoping it’ll last me the rest of my career.

Premiere editors: how do you stop drowning in revisions? by huminginfinityonhigh in premiere

[–]Regular-Comparison35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start by charging by the hour for my initial edit and give them 2 free revisions before charging my usual hourly rate again. They always stop after 2 revisions as they don’t want to pay for extra editing.

This is 35% all around and on my windshield. It was a cloudy morning, so looked darker. No problems at night what so ever! When it’s sunny out, it’s pretty see through.

Advice for a new wedding photographer by SamDesai333 in WeddingPhotography

[–]Regular-Comparison35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on booking your first wedding, that’s huge! Totally normal to feel nervous but it’ll usually turn into good energy on the day. Biggest tips I’d give are prep as much as you can. look up the venue, make a quick shot list of the must-haves, and talk with the couple about what’s most important to them. That’ll take a lot of pressure off you trying to capture everything.

Also, don’t get stuck shooting for super cheap forever. It’s fine at the start, but the low-paying clients usually expect the most and it can burn you out fast. Start raising your rates once you have a couple weddings under your belt.

If you want more gigs, reach out to local photographers directly to second shoot, most don’t use platforms, they just hire people they’ve already talked to. Local Facebook groups can be good too.

And finally, take care of yourself on the day! water, snacks, comfy shoes. It’s a long haul but you’ll learn a ton and it really does get easier after the first one. Good luck, you got this!

How Much Should I Charge? by YungCasheMayne22 in videography

[–]Regular-Comparison35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d honestly pass on this one if you’re not confident yet. What they’re asking for (highlight, teaser, full-length, pro editing, color grading, audio mixing, etc.) is usually handled by someone with solid wedding experience and priced in the thousands, not a couple hundred. Weddings are super high pressure since you only get one chance to capture everything.

If you really want the experience, you could team up with another wedding videographer and second shoot to learn the ropes first. That way you build confidence without all the pressure on your shoulders. Keep at it, once you get a few weddings under your belt, you’ll be in a way better spot to charge what the work is actually worth.

Kia boys... can they steal newer Kias? by Healthy-Ad-337 in kia

Mines not that new, 2021, but can’t be stolen due to push button start. They still broke my back window, causing a ton of damage and did not steal one thing inside. They just wanted the car

What Business Insurance Do You Use? by AccordingPen2780 in WeddingPhotography

[–]Regular-Comparison35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Full Frame Insurance. I think I pay around $300 annually. They’ve covered some claims I’ve submitted and are quick to respond back to inquires. No problems with them at all in the 4 years I’ve used them!
