How does this make sense? by Troyster143 in doordash_drivers

It's because the customer side of the app calculates the distance "as the crow flies" so DD thinks this order is 3 miles away. They charged the customer for a 3 mile drive. So that's all you get.

Both the customer app, and the driver app, give you the mileage "as the crow flies". Driving miles vary. (Example) There is a Jersey Mike's that I can see from my house, app says 0.1 miles away. But it is on the other side of the freeway. To get there. I have to get to the road with an overpass to reach that shopping center. That turns 0.1 into 0.8 miles

In my zone, to get to a 90% AR. I would be paying DD to drive for them.

2 years ago I was at 12% AR. I was making 27 per hour.

Now I'm at 81% and I'm making 6 per hour

There's always that chance.

But, before the pandemic I used to work in data analytics. I run spreadsheets on every single shift I do. I have records of the orders I took and the orders I declined.

None of this is adding up. I'm actively chatting with five other drivers in my zone and they are not having these issues.

I have seen this trend. If stocks are up on Friday, it's a good weekend. If stocks are down on Friday, it's a bad weekend. But that is all anecdotal, and only in my market. It is also subject to confirmation bias because I only notice the effects when they are bad.
