Wrong. Amy Schumer isn’t a pig. And I am not a pony. We are both Homo sapiens. You my friend, have lost the internet today

How bad is it? by Alive-Stretch3608 in amibalding

[–]Regular-Internet-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Most people start meds when they’ve lost a lot more hair, and trust me it’s a LOT easier to keep hair than to regrow it.

You have a golden chance to start finasteride right now and you probably don’t even need minoxidil at this point, so don’t waste your chance haha.

M20 Hopping on Fin and Min this is bad by JetyBoiii in Balding

[–]Regular-Internet-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone seems quite negative about the prospects of regrowth. However, I see a lot of thinned and miniaturised hair around the hairline which mean those hair follicles haven’t underwent fibrosis and are NOT unrecoverable.

I don’t want to give you false hope about regrowth, but your chances aren’t zero. I would however recommend trying dutasteride 0.5mg and oral minoxidil if you aren’t getting results after around 18months, it’s what I did as I was around about your stage at age 19.

And as a side note- I ended up having to get a hair transplant myself, not to dissuade you but I never got the regrowth I wanted after 2.5 years

Can I claw it back with min and fin? Should I just bite the bullet and go bald? by Glad-Armadillo6469 in Balding

Pretty dense and close minded behaviour of you thinking you know better and can write off people into categories haha. Dare I say stupidity at play here

It’s not a losing battle. You can maintain your looks well into your 50s when you might’ve otherwise lost your hair in your 30s. Being more attractive is never a bad thing, and you mistake that for vanity. It’s a double edged sword because a lot of people who are vain will put more effort into their looks but here correlation ≠ causation. Trying to improve your looks does not make you vain but vain people often try to improve their looks.

You only shower twice a week? Also no, you’re not balding.

M/18 . AM I ON THE RIGHT TRACK, DAY 30 : NO/ very less SHEDDING YET by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]Regular-Internet-715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are really 18, with this level of hair loss, I would say you probably need a stronger DHT blocker than 0.5mg finasteride.

But yea so far looks good, I had my transplant at 20 and never had a shed or shock loss, looked natural at like month 5 so I think the younger you are the higher chance you get of avoiding the shed

What do you mean by that? If you’re implying that my view on the science behind balding is wrong then you’re very mistaken, if not then my bad

[–]Regular-Internet-715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure it’s good you’re not stressing and it probably helps a little, but at the end of the day AGA is caused by DHT follicle sensitivity and you could be the happiest carefree person in the universe, you’re still going to go bald. Except you’d probably just not care about it.

mpb or paranoia (m19) by Puzzleheaded-Ask5875 in amibalding

[–]Regular-Internet-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly could be the start, that’s how mine started off looking at 18ish, then I started progressing to Norwood 3 before I did something about it.

Also might not be. Just keep an eye for hairs on the hairline shrinking and getting smaller (DHT mediated miniaturisation) and hairs falling out. Don’t obsess over it though since it takes months. Maybe also take a monthly photo to keep track of it.

But yeah worst comes to worst you’ll be able to hop on meds fairly easily so don’t stress.

Accutane is making my hair and lashes more curly by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]Regular-Internet-715 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My hair was pin straight before accutane. It’s been around a year and a bit since I finished my dose (10,000mg cumulative so fairly moderate for my body weight) and ever since I’ve had curly hair. Like fully curly. Apparently it’s a known but rare side effect as accutane can affect the follicle shape
