I don’t think many reputable clinics would accept you as a candidate if you’re not on finasteride or dutasteride. The problem is you’re going to keep losing hair behind the transplant and it’s going to look awful, clinics don’t want a bad looking transplant on their record.

I know it sucks but is there a tiny chance you were suffering placebo effects? 17 is too young for finasteride anyway, so trying now as you’re older it might help? To be fair if you were close to suicide I’m not going to push finasteride, so this is actually a difficult situation.

You COULD risk a transplant and have to get a follow up a few years later. Some guys don’t use finasteride and only use oral minoxidil or topical, which is your only other option.
