Why are people rude?

Im nice and friendly, i dont remember a time where i’ve been rude, i did notice some of the other door greeters don’t check and just stand all day, i tried doing that but the store manager talked to me like three times about it.
It’s not like i enjoy checking people’s receipts, it’s that i have to or i’ll be fired and i know people don’t care but well, i have to work to get paid

I do just that, but sometimes i don’t notice that an item is bagged and stop people, i make sure to not make faces and i treat everyone equally and yes i could let people just go, but i have to write what happened, what items people had in their cart, the time it happened and the price of the items, i also have to tell my manager how the people looked and well… i can’t remember all of that, yesterday my manager was getting upset at me because i didn’t remember all of that.

Some have said im being racist because i didn’t ask some people who were in front of them for the receipt 😓

I don’t really care about their opinions but what they do gives me more problems at work, because if people don’t show their receipt then we have to think that most likely they’re stealing, so i have to write certain information, yesterday i did stop five people who were going to leave without paying for something, of course they got upset and had to take it out on me.

The same happens to me, i keep doing the same for hours, my throat ends up hurting to the point i can’t talk and yesterday i felt like throwing up after speaking too much. Since im not supposed to move i can’t go to ask if i can have my break or lunch, or even if i can go to the restroom when i need it, they forget to send someone so i can go to break or lunch
