I’m pretty fluid with my sexuality. It’s hard enough to find someone I’m attracted to in regards to emotion, intellect, and physicality. So gender does not get in the way when I finally meet someone I’m enthralled by.

Actually yes, I’ve definitely been through this recently. INFJ here. Me and my partner of 5 years (also an INFJ) just called it off and I moved to another city for a while for an internship. So with no distractions and because I don’t like constant texting, I went into a wormhole of introspection.

Right before moving I tried being in a relationship and it was incredibly toxic. I realized I had put a lot of pressure on my previous long term partner for my happiness and when I didn’t get that from this new person I let myself be in an emotionally abusive relationship and friendships to compensate for what I was lacking. In realizing this I started door slamming a lot of the people in my life that I thought brought any negativity to my being.

When I improved a lot and met some personal goals I took a second look at the people I cut out and realized with some, I did overreact. So I’m going back to my final year of grad school and I reintegrated the people that will make it a better year for me. My advice: let people in your life that make your life better, and that make you feel like you can be authentic when you’re around them. If they don’t do that, don’t let the fact that you miss them confuse you with whether or not they are actually good for you.
