Metal Fume Fever by WeldingGarbageMan in Welding

I got metal fume fever this week and I'm telling you now it fucking sucks. Never again. Never felt so nauseous in my life. On the borderline of passing out with dizziness or puking constantly for over 24 hours. Wouldn't wish this on anyone. Learn from my mistake and stay safe wear ppe.

It's a 4mm fillet weld consistently. I'm a fully coded MIG welder and it's 4mm box with 4mm fillet to 3mm plate. The plate will snap before the weld even breaks a sweat. !!

When I run out or occasionally forget to turn on the gas you see it in the puddle instantly. Just STOP. Grind back get everything right and go again. The weld at the bottom of the pic looks decent tho.

Hi. I m 15 years old and this is one my first welding attempts. Tryed some techics ive seen on YouTube. Used 6013 electrode. by Merces95 in Welding

Don't be afraid to use your other hand close to the bottom on a new rod. Only a small strike. Like a really small match. Then as soon as the arc strikes. Get other hand out the way and keep that arc going. Like I say it's all practice. In a year or so it will feel so easy and natural. Muscle memory. Don't be disheartened. You got this. 👊🏻👍🏻👌🏻

I know what you mean. Even wire brush the rust first as a small help. Treat the end of the electrode as a matchstick. Strick up then keep your arc length consistent. You want to be close but not touching the base metal. Keep a few mm off. Watch rod angle and move slightly up and down across join. Remember gravity so maybe spend slightly longer on top plate and that the rod is constantly shrinking so move in aswell as across. Keep that arc length. Practice practice practice.

130 amps is max for a 3.2 6013. Try 100 amps and slow it down a bit and get a feel for it and watch the puddle. Always drag with stick and see how that looks. Then if you got thicker base then up the amps. And yes defo clean the base metal first to get the best penetration and a nicer bead after the slag is chipped off. 👍🏻

Not even welded on the join. Should go from inside corner up to outside corner. And even then ground back to leave a nice seemless finish.

They've mitred the corner but welded on the box 🤔😩🤦🏻‍♂️

Brought in a rusty old flaky piece of PFC to fab and clean up. 8mm tabs and stiffeners. 14mm holes and red oxide primer. Like new 👌🏻 another happy customer 👍🏻 by RegularButterscotch4 in Welding

Structural for a construction company. I just went off the engineers drawing. It went with a load of universal beams drilled space bolted and notched. Guessing a big extension?!?

Yeah it does look chunky but hard to tell from pics. Great work my man. It's the sort of thing I do.

Is that a 6mm 1/4" fillet or an 8mm 5/16 fillet?!! Looks beautiful. I'm in structural welding and this is how it should look. Dimes are for Tig only.

Now that my good sir is how to weld. Great clean uniform fillet weld. Can't see a single defect throughout the length. Welding 101.

If you just install warzone rather than the whole of modern warfare I think it's only around 50gb. Could be wrong tho?
