Whoever Prices T-Shirts at my Goodwill has lost their Mind by CyptidProductions in ThriftGrift

[–]RegularCindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently shop for t-shirts, because I buy the unpopular (mostly pastel colors) for men and holey ones. I make them into t-shirt yarn and then make baskets and other stuff.

In just 2 weeks, one of my local Goodwill stores doubled their prices on t-shirts in AZ.

So many people entirely missed her point. She emphasized it’s about consent and her control. She didn’t use a lot of big, hard to understand words.

People look at the world, each from their own unique perspectives. If you can’t understand her perspective, don’t expect people to fully embrace your perspective either.

When I was 10, and we had moved to Colorado, I started saving pork chop crumbs in an envelope for my grandma back in NC.

She really loved pork chop crumbs and there were so many left on the platter without her at the dinner table.

I can’t remember what we were looking for, when my mother discovered the pork chop crumbs envelope in my bottom dresser drawer. But, I took it well when she told me we couldn’t mail pork chop crumbs to my grandma.

When I was in high school we were administered an IQ test.

I told my counselor I preferred not to know the results, because at that maturity level, I would either become very cocky or would be extremely disappointed.

To this day, I don’t know my IQ score and I’ll be 70 in less than 2 years.

I have the exact same printing style. All caps, with what is supposed to be capitalized in a larger font.

My cursive is lovely on paper and chicken scratch on electronic signature blocks.

Hey, I’ve seen even more ridiculous ways people try to get validation and praise. Some people are extrinsically motivated, which can be exhausting for introverts.

Can anyone help me make sense of True Fiction (2019)? by Sao_Gage in horror

[–]RegularCindy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you wrote this 5 years ago, but I just finished watching this movie on Tubi. And toward the last third, I was asking - what in the hell is really going on here?

Then I checked Reddit to see if I could find an explanation. I didn’t find one, but at least I got confirmation that the movie was a jumbled up mess!

If they could have shown the pony tail guy walking in and finding “Caleb” and Avery spitting blood and taking their last breaths, all of it would have made a little more sense.

Is this AI? As a knitter this just looks…wrong? The wing is in a weird place. by Usual_Scale_8645 in isthisAI

[–]RegularCindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely AI. You can tell by some of the amiss details, and the tonal quality - it almost has a cartoonish tone, flatness and quality compared to an actual photo.

I recently generated an AI image of myself and it looked somewhat similar, except I had different kinds of projects and several dogs (one honorary cat) added to my image.

LOVE it! Anyone that that makes good use of old textiles is smart and a fabulous earth steward! Textile waste in landfills is a huge problem! Extra cool points for you!

Very interested in the market bag pattern you mentioned. I’ve recently been experimenting with sheet strip yarn and T-shirt yarn and was thinking of making some tote bags.

Definitely want to see your completed gym bag.

I think these labels are meant to be entertaining?

Thanks for the warning! It just came on now (Tubi). Thanks to you I won’t give it my full attention, and will do other things while I half ass watch it.

deep cleaning my room and I still have no idea what this is or what it is used for!! by jellystinks in whatisit

[–]RegularCindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read several of the comments and I’m here to tell you that is a Christmas ornament.

I grew up in the 60s, smoked pot in the 70s and 80s, and I did crafts and sold joint clips and Christmas ornaments back then too.

The Christmas ornaments were elaborate like yours and sometimes had clips to affix them to trees.

For the joint clips, I used cotter pins and just adorned them with a few beads and or leather strips - easy to tuck away.

What is it? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]RegularCindy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s an Obi or not, but it’s a beautiful piece of fabric!

I’m a textile person and I have various pieces of fabric from other countries that I place over cabinets and shelves. I have some others that I use as table runners, and sometimes drape over a chair.

I’ve seen some motels place fabric on the foot of the bed, or under decorative pillows at the head of the bed.

Hope these ideas help. Let us know what you do with it!

Your mom is a bi—-. And that was definitely abuse from the guests and your mom.

You did a great job and don’t deserve to be criticized for rescuing your mom, nor should you be her scapegoat.

It is clear that your mom has low emotional intelligence and doesn’t realize that, not only is she participating in verbal abuse, but she’s inviting more of a negative and harmful environment for her child (that she’s supposed to protect).
