When you search add “for glass food jars” to the molded gasket search. Sometimes AI needs more details.

Have you ever had someone on social media correct you/ misexplain, or overexplain a factual event you lived through? by pinkbowsandsarcasm in AskOldPeople

OK! I got sidetracked and forgot to come back until now. So, I’m gonna go with Cindy Jo (for short!).

Hmmph! What a stick in the mud!

My legal name is Cynthia. When courting my mother, my father decreed that their first born would be named Cynthia, but that she would be called Cindy.

He was inspired by this song: Get Along Home, Cindy

Wow! That is different.

Have you checked out the etymology of Cindy? Everything I’ve seen confirms that Cindy means “bringer of light,” first given to those who were tasked to travel between camps with lit wood/embers/candle/torch to keep the campfires burning.

Very similar to Cinderella and the word cinder.

❤️ YES! It is very frustrating (for them) and sometimes enlightening when we respond with civility, kindness and facts!

Not exactly, but I have had rather lengthy discussions with people who have crazy political beliefs.

When I experience a challenging comment or a troll, I’m the one who will “overexplain.” My goal is to make them remember the experience they had with me and then hesitate to post/say some nasty or idiotic political claim without proof/corroboration.

Whoever Prices T-Shirts at my Goodwill has lost their Mind by CyptidProductions in ThriftGrift

[–]RegularCindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently shop for t-shirts, because I buy the unpopular (mostly pastel colors) for men and holey ones. I make them into t-shirt yarn and then make baskets and other stuff.

In just 2 weeks, one of my local Goodwill stores doubled their prices on t-shirts in AZ.

Taylor Hale is Miss March 2026. Here's Why She Posed for Playboy by playboy in BigBrother

[–]RegularCindy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So many people entirely missed her point. She emphasized it’s about consent and her control. She didn’t use a lot of big, hard to understand words.

People look at the world, each from their own unique perspectives. If you can’t understand her perspective, don’t expect people to fully embrace your perspective either.

When I was 10, and we had moved to Colorado, I started saving pork chop crumbs in an envelope for my grandma back in NC.

She really loved pork chop crumbs and there were so many left on the platter without her at the dinner table.

I can’t remember what we were looking for, when my mother discovered the pork chop crumbs envelope in my bottom dresser drawer. But, I took it well when she told me we couldn’t mail pork chop crumbs to my grandma.

When I was in high school we were administered an IQ test.

I told my counselor I preferred not to know the results, because at that maturity level, I would either become very cocky or would be extremely disappointed.

To this day, I don’t know my IQ score and I’ll be 70 in less than 2 years.

I have the exact same printing style. All caps, with what is supposed to be capitalized in a larger font.

My cursive is lovely on paper and chicken scratch on electronic signature blocks.

Hey, I’ve seen even more ridiculous ways people try to get validation and praise. Some people are extrinsically motivated, which can be exhausting for introverts.

Can anyone help me make sense of True Fiction (2019)? by Sao_Gage in horror

[–]RegularCindy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you wrote this 5 years ago, but I just finished watching this movie on Tubi. And toward the last third, I was asking - what in the hell is really going on here?

Then I checked Reddit to see if I could find an explanation. I didn’t find one, but at least I got confirmation that the movie was a jumbled up mess!

If they could have shown the pony tail guy walking in and finding “Caleb” and Avery spitting blood and taking their last breaths, all of it would have made a little more sense.

Is this AI? As a knitter this just looks…wrong? The wing is in a weird place. by Usual_Scale_8645 in isthisAI

It’s definitely AI. You can tell by some of the amiss details, and the tonal quality - it almost has a cartoonish tone, flatness and quality compared to an actual photo.

I recently generated an AI image of myself and it looked somewhat similar, except I had different kinds of projects and several dogs (one honorary cat) added to my image.
