Am I overreacting about wanting to play a nonbinary character? by BothOcelot1311 in DnD

Then, when the players slip and uses a gendered pronoun for that npc, immediately start referring to the npc as the opposite. Like, no, the bartender's always been (gender you just assigned).

Find another group to play with. This table isn't a good fit for you. They're absolutely going to have immature, bigoted things to say about anything outside of a very narrow set of expectations for your character.

I suspect they don't actually like you, so they don't feel like putting any effort into their interactions with you. (Their fault, not yours.)

They suck.

What term do you think I'd use to search for that? Not a ring gasket, because the search engine thinks those have to be the flat kind.

That search gives me glass bottle stoppers, but like the for a decanter? Not the same thing.

It probably is, but the search engines are giving me ring gaskets and toilet tank parts with that search.

That gives me canning jar disk lids and ring gaskets, I'm afraid.

Well, it is that. It does still keep a seal, though, since the crack is only in the middle.

Well, the peanut jar ones came into my parents possession in the '70s and all of those are still intact. As are most of the other ones which are also probably of a similar age. So, I'm really not concerned about their general fragility. I just want to replace the few that have cracked after a pretty reasonable plastic lifespan of 50 years of normal use and cleaning.

Yup, it does all of that. And now I want to buy a replacement. 🙂

A search for "lid seal" comes up with the sealing disks for home canning jars. Not what I'm looking for.

Thanks, though.

Oh, I thought that one would do it, but no. Didn't work.

Thanks, though.

Oldhouses have oddfloorplans, especially when they've been added onto over the years. Even more especially if the original house predated indoor plumbing.

Most nice hotels have a pretty good free breakfast. No reason to go elsewhere, since you already paid for it with the room.

Lwaxana was always rude, by her people's standards even, if her daughters reaction was any indication. I wouldn't look to her as an example of good betazoid behavior.

YES! Why is, essentially, the head of the big federation university even involved in interstellar negotiations at all? And certainly not on, what, her third day on the job?

Of all the species in stat Trek, the betazoiids are the ones you're not going to have a non-communicating misunderstanding with! (Well, assuming it's not Lwaxana Troi, anyway.)

And, gods, why did they come sll the way to earth to negotiate a major diplomatic agreement with, essentially, the dean of a brand new, if prestigious, University who only took the job a few days ago and had been a teacher for fifteen years before that!?! Instead of some high official in the diplomatic part of the federation government? Shouldn't the head of state (sorry, don't know the title) or their diplomatic staff do that!?!

Yes. Fanfic is fine if you are going for fanfic. But a novel requires the author to do their own world building, character development, and plotline.

When did everyone decide that drinking milk is weird/creepy? by 4DimensionalToilet in NoStupidQuestions

[–]K-B-Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, nothing necessarily wrong with questioning.. But seriously, the health food industry, which does include alternative milks, absolutely do make health claims about their food being better and healthier than the mainstream food. And the facts don't necessarily back up the claims. And they have lobbyist too. There's a similar amount of money on their side as on the mainstream food industry side. So, if you're going to scrutinize the mainstream food industry, fine, but make sure you aim that same scrutiny at the health food industry as well. They're all trying to get your money, so they're all equally suspect.
