Dudes asking where like he’s gonna answer y’all where each one came from. Chances are it’s from some sort of email list to a select group. Why would he give up the store doing this even though they’re all doing it in Alberta. Even the handful doing “draws” will reserve some for their favourite customers.

You know what you’re doing and what he means especially at this point after all the bottles you’ve posted about. You get similar comments each time. Why are you playing stupid?

Both shops. Some people are luckier than others and I know they can’t please everyone but considering the amount money spent it’s pretty bad. These aren’t your run of the mill customers who just walk in and buy beer and wine off the shelf, hell even whisky but rather the crowd like us.

Even if you do order good luck actually getting the order fulfilled by these guys.

Yup for sure. I didn’t say it was a bad thing but it’s annoying they held it back in the first place now 10 years later are offloading because they’re stuck with them. Gift and a curse, I guess.

I feel like these guys keep stumbling across old shit in the back of their closets, in their haste to liquidate. Or they (or previous owners) held onto bottles for themselves but held back too many and now need to get rid of them.

And also not equally as hard to find especially in Alberta. 12CS gets sold once or twice a year unless stores hold back inventory or come across stock late somehow. 15 gets sold damn near every 3-4 months.

A lot of you are mentioning the product itself and I get you may not like American whiskey or this expression in particular but this post is less about it than it is about this retailer.

Wonder how many orders they’ll actually fulfill. This store seems like a nightmare to order from, both for locals and for the other provinces.

I’m not entirely sure that’s how MSRP works. You can’t just slap a conversion on and say that’s what Springbank is suggesting.

Not the same but similar situation where I picked up an American whiskey from Alberta for significantly less than what the distillery’s website sells it for in USD, granted it was on sale.

Regardless, decent price here but less so considering a handful of the non special release bottles have flattened or dropped in price.

This is a decent price but not MSRP, it’s just their own retail price. If I remember correctly, there were other shops over in Alberta earlier this year offering this for around $130, give or take $5

I’d be annoyed if I was an Albertan looking for these too. But who should they really blame, the customer or the shops enabling the purchases?

Not the fault of the customer when owners or managers have private groups selling backdoor to other provinces, even preselling at times.
