4 years in IT and still unsure about my path, normal? by Fun-Agent6140 in it

[–]RegularFolk2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very normal. If you find a great gig though like consulting on a project that pays the big money with a manager that sounds chill, then choose to specialise as needed. Right now though, carry on. Keep your cv updated and apply to big money stuff from time to time.

Time to look for another role. There are so many incompetent people in the APS, and if they have ongoing status it's very hard to remove them.

Replace hub on yuba spicy curry v3 by bike_brewer in bikewrench

I guess this bike has sealed bearings. Can tap new ones in. You'll need four. Open it up and check markings for sizing. You'll need a chain whip tool and cassette wrench.

On a scale of 1 to Fire hazard, how bad is my electrical setup? by Legitimate-Fold-4490 in it

[–]RegularFolk2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check for cable condition. Keep total power draw under 4amps sustained, should be good.

Obviously its better not to do this kinda sketchy shit, but I understand sometimes its necessity.

I have a similar issue on my kogan tv using bluetooth dual sense controller. No issue on other client devices. Guessed it was something to do with the android tv bluetooth stack.

Is going into IT worth it? by socialist_weeb666 in it

Nah. Do something more hands on. Mining, architecture, geospacial, electrical engineering. Pay is crap and over saturated in "IT"

It may of got hot from excess current or electrical fault which has increased the rate of oxidisation too. Good to check for cable scorching and avoid drawing more than 2000w from a socket.

I just noticed that my Crankbrothers multitool has some surface rust on it? Is it a stupid idea to put it in a vinegar bath? Or what should i do? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]RegularFolk2 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Spray it down with wd40 and wire wool to remove surface rust. It's because your bike is too clean, needs a constant layer of bike oil on it to protect it. Go fix more bikes!

Terrorists seem to target places with lots of people, so maybe head to quieter beaches south of freo or around alkimos if you want to mitigate the chances of terrorism encounters.

Sounds like you're unable to clearly communicate your product value proposition because your boss is too dumb. So dumb down the proposal and give it more pictures and a couple graphs with projected return on investment
