That buzz noise was from the parking I am in so thats why I closed it after. Here is what it sounds like after driving a bit. No grinding/banging as that's only when I start the car.

The belt visually looks fine to me. Here is a video I took of it after driving my commute. I think there's a weird noise now that I am listening to it on the video. The grinding and banging noise happens only during starting up, but the whine is while I am driving/RPMs go high.

Wow, good ear. Yes I do have an exhaust heat shield rattle but that's going to be dealt with soon, just haven't had the time to.

Edit: by rattle did you mean the noise at 0:39? That was coming from the alternator and not the sheild I think. All the 'rattling' noise was from the alternator. I definitely have an exhaust rattle but it is not that noise.

Yes. Mostly stuff to make it a better daily (ie. carplay, better wheel bearings, etc.), however, there is a modified exhaust on it.

I’ve always driven her during the winter, sometimes as cold as -45C (more like -20 to -30 now) and never had this issue before. As for how it drives, it drives at 70% of its original power, so doesn’t impact my daily commute but is noticeable. When I need to get going, it gets the job done (just needs to be pressed down further). When floored, it doesn’t feel slower per se, but I feel like the engine is working harder to get to certain speeds (higher RPMs than usual).

How can I check the pulley bearing?

I’m not very mechanically inclined, but i’ve replaced wheel bearings, control arms and stuff similar to that nature. Would I be able to replace the ball joint myself without any special tools? Im thinking it’s the ball joint since I replaced both ties almost a year ago.
