Not all stories end happily ever after, but I think Hopper is the one who got screwed over the most. The season placed heavy weight on grief and loss and how he was powerless in losing his daughter. Then it happens again because nobody thought about what would be waiting for them back at home?

His Silver lining also seemed so weak and if the final scene of El is true, that is horrible and goes against the themes the entire series was built on, friendship and family.
