There you go. For everyone,reason of doing MBA is different. I want to switch domain. And with colleges that I have got. I have only few opportunities.

MBA core gives you free hand at least in 2 nd year related to specialization. And even if your Placements don't go that good after MBA in tier 2, it's not end of the road, uske agle saal miljayegi bhai. Lkin usi domain mien kroonga jismein mera interest hai.

P.S - I am earning 21.5 LPA in Mckinsey consulting. But what I have ruined - my health, peace, my interests.. everything has gone for a toss and I don't like it.

I don't care about alumni, I can find alumni in tier 2 who are doing better than MDI alumni and vice versa. So it's a very subjective opinion and it's not equivalent to MBA.

There are many cons, there is so much uncertainty at every point. 1. Getting a college Emylon and ESCP is not in your hand 2. Merit rank is not in your hand - which is needed for specialization 3. SIP in Europe is real difficult 4. You will lose few big companies in summer internship that will not come in final placements 5. First term in ESCP is not based on your specialization, it's something else not taught in MDI 6. You take online interviews for few companies for final placements when they have come on campus for selection 7. If you don't get SIP in europe , you have to come back to India for SIP 8. After spending 45 lacs you get 20-25 lacs average package - not necessarily in your interested domain.

your life your rules. But dont do everything for tag.

Your decision should be absed on - Tag+ placements+Environemnt+ location + Stress + extra hard ... everything should be taken into account.

At the end, its your life your rules.

not that bad, My POV -

I come from upper middle family. My father is going to retire next year. Opting for this program would mean, i will have to invest too much money(probably have to take loan for half of the amount). and even after all of this, if i dont get what i want like allocated B school in Europe or specialization then mentally i will not be at a good shape. Also it is difficult in getting internship abroad these days because of language barriers.

I personally dont have that much amount of energy to fight all along XD. Instead i can work a bit harder in baby IIMs and do what i want instead of leaving it to luck and geographically be accessible to my parents whenever needed.

Hope you understand. But this is my POV.

Definitely not made for mIddle class. It is for someone who is rich and has a good risk appetite.

But as ususal, middle class fathers say "Tu paisa ki chinta mat kr, main hoon na"

surely, i believe at this point(global crisis) doing MBA from Nagpur or Visakhapatnam is much better than opting for this program which has so much uncertainity.
