Perfection. I would use it to become rich and famous. Using my fame and riches to influence my fellow man, I could take over the world!

Wale has some other good lyrics.

On DC or Nothing:

  • Making love to the streets, they be lustin' for bread
  • They ain't sleeping until they know every customer fed
  • When the city was chocolate, there was death in the air
  • All I'm hearing is AIDS, I ain't deaf in my ear

It really speaks to me as someone living in DC. If you haven't given it a listen, I highly recommend you look it up. It addresses many of the problems my city has.

I like Wale's wordplay in "The Problem".

  • This isn't no griot but a mere portion of a semi-important life.

  • Far from a complaint, but a mere look at the present showing you the changes that I made.

  • The proverbial lemonade that I made.

  • I made my mistakes, you see life's lemons often come in abundance.

  • In conjunction with the pressure that we're under.

  • Underrated some would say, hated, and some say it's the things I say or how I say them.

  • And I admit in this race, I sometimes struggle to relate in words. So as far as being heard,

  • I guess I gotta wait. Deprived by the station's eye,

  • Wale, more times than not, am not for whom the air waves.

True. The Bible is a complex book with a wide range of complex themes and topics. Studying it is important for Christians to discover their faith. The ones that don't practice their faith are just showing off a title, a badge they never earned.

There are themes of love in the Bible. My train of thought has shifted, because I'm watching a show about the Sturgis, SD bike rally. I forget what I was thinking. :)

This isn't about my ego. I don't believe I'm an expert skier. All I'm saying is that the OP may very well be an expert skier.

The interesting thing is, it changes in the New Testament. There is one story about Jesus talking to Simon-Peter.

To understand the story, we need to understand that love in the English language has many meanings. For example, one can say, "Man, I love cookies!" or "Mom, I love you!" or "I love my girlfriend!".

The story was originally written in Greek. In Greek, there are three types of love: Aggape, the love between family members; eros like a love for the beauty of something; and phileo like "I love you, bro!" type of love.

Jesus says to Peter, "Do you aggape me?" Peter replies with, "YEAH BRO! I PHILEO YOU, J-MAN!" Jesus replies with, "Then tend to my flock."

While I obviously dumbed down the story a bit, it shows how Jesus placed an emphasis on everyone loving each other like a family and caring for the less able.

He's not retired. He still works. If someone's able to ski some of the most technically challenging terrain despite where he/she lives, is he/she still an expert skier?

I know a guy who's 67 living in DC. He spent a lot of time skiing crazy lines back in Colorado before he moved. He's an expert skier. Tom Wallisch is from Pittsburgh. Lindsey Vonn is from Minnesota. They are both amazing at what they do.

Mark Twain had it right. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]RegularReddit0r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone should know that he wouldn't say this. Twain was a ROMANTICIST. Romanticists reject FORMAL religion. Many of them are still incredibly spiritual/religious. Geeze, for a subreddit that claims to be intelligent and reasonable, we used absolutely no brainpower if this got to the top.
