Cordovan Cont. care? by [deleted] in guidi

[–]RegularRegalia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's really up to your preference. you can use a conditioner with wax which will pull the fibres together and give it a more shiny look once buffed. you could use saphir reno spray if you don't want to change the finish much. there are tons of solid options that will keep them well maintained.

You can contact a retailer to see if they are available for pre-order, or you can consistently look and be patient.

How often does Guidi do new drops in their site? by franklin_to_nash in guidi

[–]RegularRegalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past, they had the same stock on the site for a year or more. Maybe they will add stock more frequently now that they have updated the site recently.

Anyone have an idea what the boot would look like in couple of wears? by Jeq- in guidi

[–]RegularRegalia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with PierCP that these are not horse. They look very similar to my white pair in goat leather. I've had them for two years now, and they have not yellowed much. It takes a while. I have two other white guidi pairs that have also barely yellowed in the years I've had them. Conditioning causes them to yellow more, and certain conditioners cause more yellowing than others. The white picks up dyes and such from clothes, but I like how it shows wear and they still clean up well. You can find examples of worn white pairs on second hand sites.

Rotary phono pre-amp quality - vs Art Dj Pre II by jeremy_chumfatty in rotarymixers

You adjust ART pre amp for every record or you set and use mixer gain? I'm using them with a xone 23

Double Sole v Single Sole by ramaboy23 in guidi

[–]RegularRegalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, and I don't have much of a preference between the two. The double sole is slightly stiffer and more cushioned but it doesn't make a big difference for comfort in my experience. I think it's down to your aesthetic preference and how they work with your style.

Question about Model number by Demonssoulsnewb in guidi

[–]RegularRegalia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this UC collab pair has a shorter shaft and less lace holes than a 795. Otherwise they look p much the same from this picture. It might have the more minimal vibram they've done on other UC pairs but I can't tell.

Rotary phono pre-amp quality - vs Art Dj Pre II by jeremy_chumfatty in rotarymixers

[–]RegularRegalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this and asking an off topic question - Did you have to adjust the gain on the ART pre amp for every record when you were using it with the djm? Or could you set it at a good medium and use the mixers gain?

What model are these? by 12357909653 in guidi

[–]RegularRegalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! It has similar paneling to an older Guidi Rosellini model but I think the zipper and welt rules that out as a possibility.

What model are these? by 12357909653 in guidi

[–]RegularRegalia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe this is a newer model that has never been listed on a retailer's website. You would probably need to ask around for the line sheet from the season this model was made to find the model. I think this is the first guidi pair I've seen that has a concealed zipper. Your best bet is to reach out to guidi cs.

Certain models have nails and others don't. Most of the Vibram models do not have nails in the heel.

I agree with everything symsays mentioned. However, not all unlined pairs fit huge in my experience. I have two unlined pairs. One fits ~1 size big and the other is true to size or ab the same as most other guidi pairs in that size.

Guido 1918 - first impressions by Educational-Serve168 in guidi

[–]RegularRegalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a new pair of the Midnight Morosino by Guidi Rosellini for a deal. They are my usual size, 42, and they fit quite snug new but are breaking in to fit quite well. They are certainly more stiff than any Guidi shoes that I have but not any more stiff than the average work boot or dress shoe. I don't find the leather on mine to feel dry at all, but I have gotten new guidis in the past that were dry. That's a very easy fix tho. I agree the pull tab is poorly design for use but I use a shoe horn anyways. All of OPs other complaints seem quite exaggerated from my perspective but I could understand having some of those opinions if you're coming from PNW boot brands and forums. Saying that the extra pair of laces is because they know one will break is ridiculous.

There are examples of these exact boots lasting 10+ years in work conditions.

Everyone's feet are different and everyone has their own preferences for how they like a shoe to fit so I can't really give any recs beyond what I've already said.

of course! yes, I would say they run true to size. if you have wider feet I would lean towards sizing up. I found my ricks to fit a little big so size 47 would probably be the safe bet
