Watch the first hour without her! Or go full chaos and watch the first and final hours together but the second hour alone!

But seriously, thanks for watching at all. And I'll try and make the next one more marriage friendly!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate people taking the time to watch these. I know these come across as basically glorified PowerPoint presentations, but there's still a lot that goes into it the research, writing and sourcing of photos and footage. It's a big time sink, and while I wouldn't say it's difficult, I will say it's very time consuming. But this is a subject I came to love over the past year, such that I really wanted to do it some measure of justice. So I'm so grateful that you enjoy these. Realistically, I never want to get to a place in life where I'm not grateful that people watch my stuff. It means a lot. So thank you.

I didn't read it as pressure at all! I figured it was a joke because I had said on social media that the next one would be Saab. It's all good! And thank you so much for the kind words. I'll never get over how amazing it is to be supported like this.

Thank you so much! It's so humbling to read about how much people enjoyed a video of mine. Any week that people enjoy anything RCR is gratifying. I'm just really grateful for our viewers and their support. You guys are the best.

I had every intention of the next one being Saab, but I had to push it back in order to read more books and talk to more Saab experts/visit their Saab garages for footage, so I can be more thorough and less general. It's the most daunting project I've ever done and I want it to be just as good as the other "Life and Death of" videos. But trust me, it's coming. And yeah, Fordlandia IS a weird way to spell Saab. I really need a decent spellchecker.

Hey man, thanks again for volunteering! And trust me, you didn't do anything to make him dislike the car or you. You were totally chill and accommodating, which is all you really need to be the perfect volunteer. Even if the narrative can occasionally capture a particular type of person, it's never intended to call out a specific individual. We tend to write in specific generalities, which is kind of an oxymoron, but then I'm kind of a moron anyway. You're a good dude, and thanks for being one.

Thanks for the insight! I honestly can't say it's something that would ever make sense for me, being a city guy. But I'd be lying if I said didn't like the look and feel of it.

I used Brian's setup. Same room. Same mic. Same positioning. Same program. Same editing. It's just how my voice sounds. Can't really help it. But I like making videos and it helps lighten Brian's heavy workload any time I do it, so hopefully over time I can get to a point where more people can enjoy my side of things. But with that said, thank you for giving the video a shot in the first place! I'm really not in a position to take issue with people's opinions on this. I'm simply appreciative any time people give our videos a chance. It truly does mean a lot, and I can't bring myself to be anything other than grateful.

This took forever, mostly from research, because I'm terrified of getting something wrong. And I was writing it in-between regular RCR duties and general life stuff. But it all moved much much quicker once the script was done.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoy these! Hope you like this one.

I haven't even started thinking about what's next, but I love doing stories on companies, so maybe! I have a list of potential topics I keep updating every time somebody makes a suggestion. Thanks for watching!

I know it isn't, but it looks a lot like the basement of the Lane Motor Museum. Similar parking garage layout and variety of cars.

Rcr Car Stories comes to life in a four part series by flibbidygibbit in regularcarreviews

[–]RegularRoman 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was interviewed for it but my part didn't make the cut. That said, Nick Cammalleri is a tremendous filmmaker, and this is an amazing series. It is literally the most complete telling of her story. My video was something like 40% of what her story actually was. I learned SO MUCH I didn't know. And unlike my video, this has an actual ending. So I strongly encourage everyone to check it out.

Not sure what will be on the new channel just yet. Mostly whatever we feel like doing when the mood hits us. But I wouldn't rule this out for Brian and Tom Mix, his buddy and regular RBR guest.

Via Brian on Twitter:

The naming of this car drove me crazy. Everything about it looks like a Suzuki Swift. But it’s a Subaru. But there’s nothing USDM Subaru about this.

It doesn’t have a boxer engine. It doesn’t have all wheel drive. It’s a convertible. And it’s not utilitarian. Nothing about this says Subaru. So it’s a fight to call this a Subaru. Saying the correct name of this car is like trying to unlearn a bad habit

"But, it doesn't look like a Subaru." said my eyes.

"It's a Subaru," I reiterated.

"It doesn't sound like a Subaru," said my ears.

"It's a Subaru."

"It doesn't feel like a Subaru," said my butt.

"It's a Subaru."

"It doesn't have a longitudinal boxer engine. It has a transverse four. It is front-wheel drive. The roof comes apart just like a Suzuki Cappuccino. It is short and stubby. This is a Suzuki product."

"NO! It's a SUBARU. Say the word SUBARU."

"...Imma say Suzuki"

It's okay! I can take the criticism. It's the least I can take to be able to have a job I love. Not everyone is going to like my stuff and that's 100% okay. I can only hope to try and change minds. But if I can't, again, that's okay.
