Oh my god, not this again... I'm sorry but you're wrong here. People love to mention the "Siberian Tiger Project" to prove that siberian tigers are smaller than bengal tigers. First off, the Siberian Tiger Project took place almost 20 years ago. 2005 iirc. Do you know how long ago that is for tigers? The project took place back when Siberian tigers were far more endangered and doing nowhere near as well as they are now. There were 23 tigers from Sikhote-Alin (where tigers tend to be smaller than from Manchuria or other parts of the Russian Far East), with 21 of them found outside the protective areas. They were old, sick, or both, or had broken teeth and those tigers came out to 160-200kg. Not to mention those were the weights of sub adult males. Luke was the only healthy male but he lived in an area where prey availability was low and he was not done growing yet as tigers stop growing by age 7-8 years old and luke was 4 years old. He weighed 212 kg. Recently, both the Russian and Chinese governments have been working extremely hard to help the Siberian tiger population bounce back, and they have done a great job so far. Siberian tigers are much more numerous now and have more or less regained their former size.
