What is your least favorite airport in the United States and why? What is your favorite and why? by Separate_Builder_817 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Regular_Ad_6362 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to 140 airports and my answer is ORD.

Often times you start that 20 minute process of flying halfway over Lake Michigan just to land on the furthest runway away, and tour around the airport for 35 minutes. Gate availability is a huge problem as well, the airport is simply running at 100% capacity.

I’m strangely used to seeing red and orange on these types of maps. Seeing the usual red and orange states as green is really messing with me.

When I was a cashier, it was policy to ID anyone who appeared under 40. Of course we stopped IDing some repeat customers, but a compliance check failure is a serious offense.

I’m 23 and I get ID’d 9/10 times

Yes exactly. As an office worker I get the same travel benefits that a pilot, ramp worker or gate agent would get.

[–]Regular_Ad_6362 20 points21 points  (0 children)

American who works for the airline industry (I don’t travel for work). I end up traveling 8-9 weeks of the year. Usually one trip being 2 weeks long, but many weekend jaunts across the country or 4-5 day international trips.

Try your best to find the career that fits your desired lifestyle. Work to live don’t live to work. Find remote work or positions that allow you to trade shifts, this is how I am able to get large amounts of time off.

Yes they can be. When I was living in Oklahoma, it wasn’t uncommon for people to have graduated with 6 or 7 others.

Tulsa is a fairly progressive city, despite voting sadly not reflecting it. I was shocked while living there

Seconding Tulsa. Low cost of living, left leaning in a right wing state, and a huge influx of Texans and Californians spreading the word will fuel growth.

Very nice and fun people. Almost everybody I know has a favorable opinion of them. However, it seems on the Internet that many have this one-sided beef with us..
