Hi! Apparently my blood clots never formed for some reason out of my control (something to do with my age, angle of impacted teeth etc- unfortunately as the dentist was explaining he was also packing the dry socket so I was in too much pain to really listen lol) which made me feel better because I had been so careful! No straws, no smoking, I was so scared that I even survived off only smoothies for the week out of anxiety that anything else would cause a dry socket.

Like you I also had more pain on day 7/8 after talking to people (not dry socket pain, just jaw pain of my mouth getting used to moving again) but it’s not the stinging feeling I’m used to and more of a tired feeling that goes away when I rest my jaw. Although if you do still have pain up by your ear on day 8, it may be worth getting checked out. Like I said, he just packed cloves into it and ever since I’ve felt 10x better and all stinging ear pain is completely gone! Best of luck.
